Millet Peuterey 35 Limited Review
The Millet Peuterey 35 Limited Pack is designed as an all around mountaineering pack, which can be used for a variety of outdoor activities. I had the pleasure of testing this great pack out on a few occasions. I used it on a couple of spring backcountry ski trips as well as a variety of early season hikes.
I found that the pack was very well constructed out of reinforced 420D Velocity nylon and 420D Oxford nylon. The bottom is also reinforced, so that one doesn’t need to worry about any wear tear issues especially if you are using the pack to carry your ice axes. The different mixes of nylons held up great in rainy and snowy conditions leaving all my gear nice and dry. The free flex system that Millet has developed is very comfortable and allows for ventilation, which is welcoming during the summer months. The pack fit me nicely and didn’t move around while skiing, thanks to the sternum and waist straps.
Storage wise, there is plenty of room in this 35 L pack. I had no problem fitting all my extra gear into the pack. The pack has a map pocket up top that is easily accessible and if you flip the lid up there is a pocket for your camera as well as a clip for your keys. The waist strap also has an additional pocket, which could fit a small camera. One feature that stood out to me was that the main compartment had a dual zipper which allowed me to get to my gear at the bottom of the pack without unloading the whole pack. The pack also has side compression straps that I found to work great on all different width of skis. The top straps feature a cam thumb lock buckle that keep your skis or gear secure when hiking. There are multiple gear loops to hold all your carabiners and other climbing gear. The pack has a hydration slot, however you do need to provide your own bladder. The pack is rather light at just over 3 pounds, but is still very durable.
All in all I have to say that this is one of the best packs I have tested and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great universal day pack. For more information, please check out millet.fr/international/
