As lounge chairs have been starting to innovate by companies listening to customers wants and needs, we the people using and buying these chairs are often the ones who benefit. The Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair is one of the newer products to hit the market with changes to the standard lounge or camp chair.
Comfort Level
The comfort level of the Kelty Deluxe Lounge chair is good to great, but not excellent. There is a little more padding on the seat and back of the chair making it feel a lot comfortable than the $15 dollar chair that is falling apart in your garage. The nice thing is Kelty chose to use a soft yet durable fabric so it should last more than a couple uses. My guess is that it will last 3-5 years of moderate use. Another way Kelty adds additional comfort to the Deluxe Chair is by allowing the chair to recline in two additional settings. This is done by adusting two clips that are attached to the legs. These clips are plastic and not super sturdy, so I question if they will last for the long haul. When laying this chair back into the most relaxed position, I did notice that my legs did get pushed further together. This over the course of a half hour or hour would get to be uncomfortable in my mind. The other positions worked fine for me. I am 6’0 tall and 170 lbs.
Features
The Kelty Deluxe Lounger has a few more features than your typical lounge / camp chair. As I mentioned, there are 3 total sitting options in this chair. The cup holders on the arms are big enough to store 2 tasty beverages on each side. They are also insulated which is nice when it comes to keeping your beverages cold. There is a bottle opener attached to one of the arms on the chair in case you have a tasty beverage that is not a screw top. There are two side mesh pockets that hang down on each side of the Deluxe lounge chair. These pockets are of good size and can easily hold a cell phone, camera, etc in one pocket.
Frame
The frame of the Kelty Deluxe Lounger is on par with other lounge chairs on the market. Nothing too special here to note.
Overall Impression
My overall impression of this chair is that it was very comfortable and it has a lot of cool features. There are a few tweaks that I think Kelty should make in future models, but nothing too serious.
