Decibullz Initial Thoughts
I was very excited to be able to test the Decibullz Custom Molded Earphones. Over the years, I’ve tried dozens of headphones in an attempt to find something which fits comfortably, provides a quality sound, and does not fall out. The Decibullz custom molded earphones are great for many types of users including runners, hikers, cross fit athletes, musicians, and those just wanting to enjoy their music without any outside influences. These unique little moldable earphones are custom, comfortable, and a great value. The Decibullz packaging is simple and eye-catching with a matte black box, elegant graphics, and minimal yet effective text.

Decibullz Ear Molding Process
I was going to record my experience taking you through the process of molding the ear pieces. Turns out, that Decibullz has already done an excellent job of doing just that. A four minute video will easily walk you through every step, and can be seen here at www.decibullz.com/. Within five minutes plus some cooling time, my Decibullz were ready to go. I was curious as to how moldable the earpieces would be, and they felt like a harder pliable clay once softened by boiling water. On the Decibullz video and website, they do mention an opportunity to remold, and I did take another shot at reshaping my left earpiece.

Decibullz in Action
I tested he Decibullz custom earphones while running, biking, and during a gym workout. While running, the earphones functioned really well. It’s been quite hot here in Colorado lately, and even while sweating buckets, they stayed put and provided great sound. I finally got to try the Decibullz on an indoor treadmill run. I felt that it was critical to do so, because the monotonous rhythms of a treadmill run can be quite arduous (at least for me). The right ear is from the original mold, and had felt pretty good from the get-go. During the treadmill run, the only thing I noticed as slightly out of sorts was a cave-like hollow sound effect on the right side. With every foot strike, a very small thump like a heartbeat could be heard or felt. I think I will re-mold the right ear as well, because the fit may be part of the cause. I will definitely continue to wear the Decibullz on a treadmill, because the heartbeat thump was so minor that I quickly forgot about it.
Bicycling and earphones, I have my opinions on that, and I do not advice it in most cases. The home page of the website does show a rather serious looking cyclist with the Decibullz headphones on. If you are on the road amongst cars, or on multi-use trails with pedestrians, it is probably a wise idea to be totally aware of your surrounding which includes the ability to hear. I decided to take the Decibullz on some local single track mountain bike trails to put them to the test going over some bumpy technical areas. Again, the earphones performed great, and it was truly a pleasure to listen to my playlist while enjoying one of my favorite outdoor sporting activities.
Wearing the Decibullz during a gym workout provided me with excellent sound while drowning out any unwanted background noise. Obviously as with any portable device, extra care does need to be taken with the cord to prevent entanglement.
Decibullz Custom Molded Earphones Final Thoughts
From small to very large, from cheap to very expensive, the assortment of headphones available in the marketplace is quite extensive. When looking for something to satisfy the active crowd, Decibullz definitely hits a bulls eye when it comes to comfort, sound, and affordability. The molding process is really easy, and the video on the website walks you through the simple steps that will provide form fitting earphones in no time. Up to this point, I have the worn the Decibullz for a maximum of about one and half hours without any discomfort at all. For more information please visit www.decibullz.com
