Aspen and Suki, two of our dog testers, are very hard on outdoor gear and of course, dog toys. Play hard is pretty much their motto. Therefore, Aspen and Suki are always in search of the easiest way to breakdown a dog toy, the faster the better. After 6 weeks in the house, the Tizzi dog toy by West Paw Design is still one of their favorites, despite missing a small piece of its’ leg.

The Tizzi has been chewed on day in an day out and still there are no bite marks on the toy. The Tizzi, because of its’ shape, is perfect for tug of war. Unfortunately, that is how our Tizzi ended up losing part of its’ limb. Despite the missing part, I feel that the Tizzi has been very durable with two big chewers that have destroyed virtually every toy they have encountered. And after 6 weeks, The Tizzi is still going strong despite its’ small missing piece.
So what makes the Tizzi so durable? For starters, it utilizes Zogoflex, West Paw Designs very own material- which in short is a durable, non toxic, buoyant, dishwasher safe, and pliable rubber like material. West Paw Design doesn’t claim to have indestructible toys, but they do guarantee them. In other words, if your dog does demolish the toy, you are welcome to a free replacement and/or refund. We have had two Ziscs, frisbee toys by West Paw Design. One of the Ziscs was destroyed after 2 months by a jealous dog at the local park. West Paw Design sent a replacement, no questions asked. West Paw Design recycles toys after they have been well loved: simply send it back to them in Montana when you are finished. One less toy carcass in the landfill and the company is able to reuse the scraps and make a new one. Pretty cool in my book!
No dog toy can be indestructible, but I feel that the Zogoflex is one of the strongest compounds on the market, better than Kong. If the Tizzi didn’t have arms, I am sure the toy would still be in one piece- as Suki and Aspen got to the weakest part of the toy. The Tizzi dog toy is available in two size, mini and large. The mini is 4.5″, while the large is 6.5″. The Tizzi is available in 4 bright colors; orange, neon green, aqua blue, and pink- making them easy to spot in the house or yard. Below is Suki (approximately 60 lbs) with the large Tizzi.
Overall, Aspen and Suki give the Tizzi two paws up and look forward to many more months of chewing and tugging. Happy Tails to you!
