Therm-a-Rest has spent over 40 years researching how to “provide the best night of sleep for the outdoors.” The dedication to this research was evident in the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag. Favorite Features of the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag
The mattress integration system that Therm-a-Rest has incorporated into this sleeping bag (and into many of the their 2014 lineup) are SynergyLink Connectors. Sewn on to the back of the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag are two large flexible fabric bands that snuggly hold your sleeping bag to your mattress. Genius! How many times have you woken up in the middle of the night half on, half off of your mattress, frustrated with the discomfort and/or freezing cold temperature of the ground? With the SynergyLink Connectors, your sleeping bag is centered on your mattress, eliminating problems with sliding off or creating cold spots between you and the ground, which ultimately creates the perfect recipe for uninterrupted sleep! SyngergyLink is designed to fit any mattress up to 25 inches wide and is very easy to use, simply slip your mattress in-between the two bands and your bed is made!

Zoned insulation keeps heat where it belongs on the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag.
Another feature that Therm-a-Rest incorporated into the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag is the ThermaCapture™ Radiant Heat Technology. The construction of the Mira is comprised of targeted zone insulation to utilize and capture the body’s warmth as well as to provide warmth where it is needed most. The Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag is made with 750+ fill down that is concentrated across the top of the bag to help capture the heat and distribute it throughout the bag. This technology directly reflects body heat back into the bag, maximizing the warmth in the bag but without adding weight. Therm-a-Rest was able to cut down on the weight of the Mira by emphasizing the zoned insulation on the top of the bag and decreasing the insulation on the bottom, relying on the mattress to provide additional warmth.

The Toe-Asis foot warmer worked surprisingly well on the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag.
The Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag also incorporated a few staples of Therm-a-Rests’ technology, such as Therm-a-Rest’s patented Toe-asis™ Foot Warmer in the toe box as, draft collar, over filled hood, and a snag free zipper with full length draft tube. Combining Theramarest’s patented Toe-asis™ Foot Warmer, draft collar, over filled hood all provided for a cozy sleeping experience, from head to toe. Specifically the inclusion of the extra foot pocket, or the Toe-asis™ Foot Warmer within the toe box helped create even warmth in areas that are chronically cold at night–something that’s usually impossible to achieve! Finally, placement of the zipper and its backing prevented fabric snagging in the zipper’s teeth, living up to it’s snag free expectation.

Final Thoughts on the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag
As a person who is constantly cold, the Therm-a-Rest Mira Down Sleeping Bag hit the mark for me. Therm-a-Rest did their research to determine the cut that would fit a woman’s frame as well as supplying zoned insulation to areas that are typically very difficult to keep warm. Not only did this bag keep me warm, but it was remarkably comfortable to sleep in. The results of Therm-a-Rest’s research in insulation and construction resulted in roomy down bag that proved to be among the warmest I’ve slept in, while also being the lightest.
