Gozney Arc Lite Review

If you’ve been following along with our reviews, you probably remember when we got our hands on the Gozney Roccbox and walked away impressed. What stuck with us wasn’t just how well it cooked, it was how clearly Gozney knew exactly who they were building for. They make the kind of gear professional chefs rely on…then put in the work to make that same experience feel natural at home, without watering it down. The Roccbox backed that up.

And now they’re back with the Arc Lite, and this one immediately makes sense. It takes everything Gozney has been building toward with the Arc line and packages it into something simpler, lighter, and a whole lot easier to live with day to day. Same DNA, same intent…just dialed in for the kind of cooking that actually happens on a random weeknight.

And you feel that shift the second you start thinking about using it. This isn’t the kind of oven you plan your weekend around, it’s the one you pull out on a Tuesday because it’s easy, quick, and doesn’t ask much from you. No overthinking, no production…just light it, cook, and eat.

If you’ve ever put off pizza night because it felt like too much hassle, this is exactly the kind of setup that changes that. And we’ve been there more times than we’d like to admit.

What’s in the Box and Getting Up to Speed

Gozney Arc Lite Unboxed

Right out of the box you get the Arc Lite oven, flame guard, a stone adjustment tool, a gas hose and regulator (already attached, which is a nice touch), and a quick start guide. We also grabbed a handful of Gozney accessories to set ourselves up for success: a cover, the Venture Turning Peel, the Venture Placement Peel, the Gozney Dough Cutter, the Pizza Cutter, the Neapolitan Dough Mix, and the Pizza Cookbook. More on all of those in a bit.

Assembly is about as involved as putting batteries in a remote. Slide in the flame guard, drop in the stone, use the adjustment tool to line up the stone flush with the opening, attach your propane tank, and you are ready to fire. Start to flame in roughly two minutes. No YouTube rabbit holes, no frustration.

Built Light, Built Right

Gozney Arc Lite Heating Up

The “Lite” in the name is doing real work here. The Arc Lite comes in at 26.4 lbs., which in pizza oven terms is basically a featherweight boxer stepping into a ring full of heavyweights. For context, moving most pizza ovens from storage to your deck feels like helping a friend move a couch. The Arc Lite feels more like grabbing a well-packed backpack. Dimensions are 16.9″ wide, 18.9″ deep, and 11.7″ tall, so it fits on a table, a counter, a tailgate, a friend’s patio, a campsite. It fits basically anywhere.

Rubber Feet and Carry Handles

What it does not do is feel cheap. The Gozney DNA is unmistakable: ceramic coating up top, high-temp paint on the bottom, rubber feet, carry handles and a build that feels solid and purposeful. The front-facing dial is a clean, confidence-inspiring single control with two color-coded zones, red for high heat and blue for lower and slower cooking. That is it. One knob. There is something almost refreshing about a piece of cooking equipment that does not require reading a manual to operate.

The fixed gas hose keeps the whole setup foolproof. Connect your propane tank and cook. No fittings to cross-thread, no leaks to troubleshoot, no second-guessing. It is the kind of well planned out details that Gozney gets right across their lineup.

Firing Up the Gozney Arc Lite: How It Cooks

Gozney Arc Lite Temp

We sent well over a dozen pies through the Arc Lite and the thing that keeps coming up is how effortless the entire experience feels. Preheat on high for about 20 minutes, get your stone up to temp (grab a temp gun, it is not optional, treat it like the missing ingredient in the box), and you are in business. We ran our Neapolitans with the stone sitting around 750 degrees Fahrenheit and the results were exactly what you want: puffy, charred, leopard-spotted crust with a soft and airy interior.

Gozney Arc Lite Flame

The signature lateral rolling flame is the secret sauce. Think of it like the difference between sitting directly under a single overhead heat lamp versus standing next to a campfire on a cool night. The heat lamp scorches one spot. The campfire wraps you in warmth from all directions. That is what this flame does. It rolls across the top of the oven like a natural wood fire, bathing the pizza in consistent heat from above while the stone does its work from below. The result is even cooking without the hot spots or that all-too-familiar one-side-burnt, one-side-underdone frustration you run into with cheaper ovens.

Gozney Arc Lite Pizza Baking

Neapolitan pies cook in under two minutes once you are at temp. Dial it back to the blue zone and you can run New York-style pies, Detroit-style deep dish, or anything that needs a slower, steadier bake. The oven handles all of it. We also did a cast iron skillet of vegetables that came out beautifully charred. The Arc Lite is a pizza oven that is also just a very good high-heat outdoor cooker.

Gozney Arc Lite Pizza Turning

Here is the thing nobody tells you about pizza nights though: the headache is never the cooking. It is the setup. Lugging a heavy oven out of storage, fumbling with gas connections, waiting forever for it to heat up. That friction is enough to make you just order delivery and feel vaguely guilty about it afterward. The Arc Lite removes basically all of that. Pizza nights have gone from feeling like a production to feeling like a Tuesday decision again, and that has been the biggest win for us.

The Gozney Arc Lite Accessories Worth Having

Gozney Arc Lite Pizza Accessories

Not everything in the accessory lineup is essential, but a couple of them absolutely are. Here is our breakdown:

The Venture Placement Peel is the one you will use every single cook. The fully perforated aluminum blade lets flour fall away cleanly so your dough does not stick and your launch does not turn into a sad, misshapen disaster. The short handle is built specifically for smaller ovens like the Arc Lite, and the rounded blade shape helps you keep your 12″ circle honest. Launching a pizza cleanly into a screaming hot oven sounds simple until you try it without the right tool. This is the right tool, and it will save your first dozen pies from looking like abstract art.

The Venture Turning Peel is the other one you will reach for constantly. Once your pizza is in the oven, you need to rotate it every 20 to 30 seconds to keep the cook even. The single-piece stainless steel blade is wide enough to get under a pizza confidently, and the shorter overall length keeps your movements tight and controlled inside the oven. Think of these two peels together as the spatula and tongs of the pizza world: technically you could try to get by without them, but you really do not want to find that out mid-cook with an audience watching.

Gozney Arc Lite Cover

The Arc Lite Cover is the one you will be glad you have on the third rainy week in a row. Heavy-duty water-repellent fabric, toggle retention straps, and full protection from rain, wind, frost, UV, and whatever wildlife considers your backyard home turf. An easy yes.

Gozney Dough Cutter

The Gozney Dough Cutter is a satisfying tool. The tapered 6.5-inch blade and weighted wooden handle make portioning dough feel precise rather than like you are tearing newspaper. If you are going to be making dough regularly, it earns its counter space.

Gozney Pizza Cutter

This Pizza Cutter is built well above the standard of the sad little plastic-handled wheel rolling around in most kitchen drawers. The 2.0mm high carbon stainless blade is sharp, heavy, and stays that way. The weighted wooden handle gives it a balance that makes clean slicing feel effortless, and it disassembles for easy cleaning. Once you use a good pizza cutter it is very hard to go back.

Gozney Neapolitan Dough Mix

The Neapolitan Dough Mix takes the single biggest intimidation factor out of home pizza making. Made with organic flour from Central Milling, it is as close to “just add water” as you can get while still producing dough that actually tastes like something. You can be serving pizza within two hours. If you have ever watched someone hand-stretch dough from scratch and thought “that is more commitment than I have tonight,” this is your answer and a very good entry point into learning the craft.

Gozney Arc Lite Pizza Making

The Pizza Volume 01 Cookbook is a great resource, not a product catalog dressed up in a hardcover. Over 75 pizza recipes, 8 different dough styles, 20 outdoor cooking recipes, and contributions from a serious lineup of chefs including Missy Robbins, Frank Pinello, and Brad Leone. If you are the kind of person who goes deep once you commit to something, this book will keep you busy for a long time.

The overall verdict on these accessories: the only truly non-negotiable additions beyond the oven itself are a temperature gun, the placement peel, and the turning peel. Everything else on this list is a great addition, but you can cook excellent pizza without them. You cannot cook excellent pizza without knowing your stone temperature and being able to launch and turn confidently.

Keeping the Gozney Arc Lite Clean Without Overthinking It

Gozney Arc Lite Pizza Debris

Maintenance is low-effort by design. For the exterior, let it cool completely first, then use a non-caustic, bleach-free spray with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive cloth. Avoid anything aggressive like Bar Keepers Friend or The Pink Stuff on the outside surfaces. For the interior, the oven does most of the work itself. Get it above 350 degrees Celsius and the self-cleaning process kicks in, burning off any food debris and soot after about three hours. The cordierite stone stores a significant amount of heat, and most of what lands on it will turn to ash on its own with enough time and temperature. A pizza oven is one of those rare pieces of cooking equipment where “run it hotter” is also the cleaning strategy.

Gozney Arc Lite Seasoned Pizza Stone

Stone is on it’s way to a great seasoning.

Bottom Line: The Gozney Arc Lite Gets Used, and That’s Everything

At the end of the day, there’s really only one thing that matters with outdoor cooking gear: does it get used, or does it collect dust? For us the Arc Lite gets used. It is light enough to grab without thinking about it. It sets up fast enough that pizza night does not feel like a project. It cooks hot enough that the results are impressive. And it is compact enough to go anywhere from the backyard, to a buddy’s cookout, to a campsite with a flat rock and a propane tank.

Gozney built flagship-level performance into something that weighs less than a large bag of dog food and costs $399. But more importantly, they made it feel approachable, like something you’d actually use on a random weeknight instead of saving for a “someday” project. It’s an easy, low-friction entry point into backyard pizza cooking.

The Arc family ranges from the Arc Lite all the way up to the Dome XL at $2,799. Those bigger ovens bring more capacity and heat retention, sure…but the Arc Lite doesn’t feel like a step down. It feels like a smarter fit for a different kind of cook: someone who wants great results without turning pizza night into a whole production.

If pizza oven cooking has ever felt like more trouble than it is worth, the Arc Lite is the oven that changes that math. We are fully smitten. Two thumbs up from us. For more info or to check on out for yourself, visit gozney.com or amazon.com.
