CORE 13' x 13' Center Push Instant Canopy Review

I recently upgraded from the CORE 10×10 canopy to the 13′ x 13′ Center Push Eaved Instant Canopy. I loved the smaller model, but I wanted something a little bigger to better fit my 16×16 deck. The 13×13 canopy turned out to be the right choice. When it arrived, we were just about to head out camping at Muskegon State Park, one of my favorite campgrounds. It’s only twenty minutes from home, but it feels like a getaway, and the new canopy came with us for its first real test.

The first thing I noticed is how easy it is to set up. It uses the same Center Push technology as my other canopy which makes opening and closing simple and fast. Instead of wrestling with poles and corners, I just pushed up the center handle and the canopy locked into place. I had it standing in about two minutes.

The oversized buttons on the legs make height adjustments smooth and safe. There are fifteen height options, so I can raise it to full coverage or lower it depending on the setting. On uneven ground at the campsite, I adjusted the legs at different heights, and the canopy stayed balanced.

The canopy fabric offers UPF 50+ sun protection, and it has two vents at the top for better airflow. On warm afternoons, the vents kept air moving so it never felt stuffy underneath. The package includes guy lines, stakes, and a wheeled carry bag, which makes it manageable to haul despite its 47-pound weight.

First Use: Camping at Muskegon State Park

At Muskegon, the canopy became our base. We ate our food under it, played cards, and used it as a shady spot when the sun was high. Even with a group of us hanging out underneath, there was more than enough space. The eaved edges give extra shade coverage, which helps when the sun is low in the sky.

Testing the CORE 13' x 13' Center Push Instant Canopy

I liked that the canopy stood tall, with a center height of over 9 feet. It never felt cramped, and I didn’t have to duck when moving around. The structure felt sturdy, and I had no concerns about it tipping or collapsing, even when a breeze came through.

Back Home: On the Deck

After camping, I set the canopy up on my deck. With the deck measuring 16′ x 16′, the 13′ x 13′ canopy fits well without taking up the entire space. It looked sharp and made the deck feel like an outdoor room. The shade coverage kept the area cooler, and I could sit out there comfortably even on sunny days.

The tent comes with stakes stored in a nice pocket sewn inside the storage bag, but I made the mistake of not using them on a windy day. I left for work early in the morning, and when I came home, the canopy wasn’t on the deck anymore. It had blown off and landed on my patio. Since my deck is two stories up, I expected the worst. I thought for sure the frame would be bent or the canopy fabric would be ripped. To my surprise, everything was intact. The frame showed no damage, and the canopy fabric looked the same as the day I unpacked it. That experience gave me confidence in the durability of this canopy.

The steel frame feels solid, and the polyester canopy fabric is thick enough to handle regular use. The vents help relieve pressure in windy conditions, though anchoring it is still important. After surviving a fall from my deck railing, I know it can take more than I expected.

The portability is another plus. The carry bag has wheels, so moving it around is easier than I thought for something this size. It still takes a bit of effort, but the bag makes it manageable.

The Verdict on the CORE 13′ x 13′ Center Push Instant Canopy

The CORE 13′ x 13′ Center Push Eaved Instant Canopy has impressed me from the start. It’s easy to set up, offers plenty of shade, and feels durable enough to last. I liked the 10′ x 10′ model, but this size works much better for my deck and for group camping trips.

At $219.99, it sits at a premium price point for a canopy, but the quality, space, and durability justify it. For me, the peace of mind knowing it can handle unexpected situations, even falling from a deck, makes it worth the cost. For more information or to make a purchase, visit corequipment.com or amazon.com.
