Dress it up or dress it down, Aventura’s Cassie Dress is ready for your winter holiday season. The Cassie Dress is an unconventional sweater dress in that it is thankfully not one boring color, like most sweater dresses I own. Rather, the Cassie Dress features a solid color that starts out light up top and fades into a darker color as you go down the body and arms. It is available in 3 colors: Frosty Gray, Sea pine, and Dusty Lavender.
Style and Fit
The Aventura Cassie Dress features a slight scoop neck collar. Vertical ribbing and an A-line silhouette combine to make the Aventura Cassie Dress very flattering up top. The Cassie Dress has a 37.5″ length, when measured from the nape of the neck to the hem of the skirt on the rear. The length translates to hitting just above the knee, based on my height of 5’8″.
In the past, I have found that Aventura’s clothing tends to run a bit big, when compared to companies such as prAna and Horny Toad. As a result, I ordered a size down for the Cassie Dress and found the fit to be absolutely perfect. The Aventura Cassie Dress is available in size XS to XL.
Aventura Cassie Dress Fabric
Aventura incorporated organic cotton and viscose (or rayon) to provide a soft, silky feel, with easing draping. Organic cotton makes up 60%, while viscose 40%. The fabric combination is warm and soft, without being too cumbersome like some heavier knit sweater dresses. Because of the incorporation of viscose, which is a delicate fiber, Aventura recommends hand washing or dry cleaning of this garment. I have yet to wash the Cassie Dress, but will likely opt for the home hand washing and line drying.
As mentioned earlier, the Aventura Cassie Dress is perfect for just about any occasion. I have been wearing it to work with a pair of plain tights and flats. For more casual outings, I have paired the Aventura Cassie Dress with a pair of Harriet Leggings, also by Aventura. The Harriet Legging mix things up with their chevron print, while keeping your legs toastier than standard tights. The Aventura Harriet Legging features 93% nylon and 7% spandex. Unfortunately, they are only available in 2 sizes: small/medium and large/x-large. I wear a solid size small in Aventura clothing, and by no means am I petite. I would think that some individuals would find an issue with only two size options.
The Aventura Cassie Dress retails for $89. To complete the outfit, the Harriet Legging runs for an additional $29. For more info on these and other Aventra products, visit www.amazon.com/aventura.
