Columbia Shore Thing Hoodie Review
We all love our sun, but we also know that too much of a good thing can cause severe health problems in the future. Fortunately, Columbia has incorporated their Omni-Shade technology into a cute hoodie for women. The Shore Thing Hoodie is a light knit top that was designed to protect your head, neck, torso, and arms from the fierce sun. Wearing long sleeves at the beach or while on the river may be intolerable if the top is cotton or a darker color; the Shore Thing is lightweight, stretchy, comes in light color shades, and has Omni-Dry for moisture management. We wore the Shore Thing while visiting Florida this spring and were thankful for the added protection for our winter white skin.
The Shore Thing has a handy small stash security pocket along the right hip and thumbholes to further protect your wrists. The Shore Thing has a more athletic cut and runs true to size; thankfully the arms are nice and long as well, so you long armed gals can take advantage of the thumbholes and cuff (which can be a problem at times). We tested out the Shore Thing Hoodie in white and feel that it would be a great piece come summer for wearing at the beach or under a life jacket because of its light color and UPF 50 sun protection rating. Fortunately, the Shore Thing can also be worn out of the water; we wore the hoodie out on the trail as a mid layer on a few early spring hikes and were pleased with its breathability and soft feel. The price is right as well, Columbia retails the Shore Thing Hoodie for $53 and it is available from their website with a flat rate shipping of a mere $6 for all of your purchases!
