For the guy who’s looking to add a little style to his wardrobe, there’s a new brand on the market that blends men’s fashion with fighting worldwide hunger for each product that’s sold. I would best describe Ecoths as a brand for the person who is going for the mountain man look, yet it offers much more than your typical flannel shirt. I recently tested out the Ecoths Kingston LS plaid shirt which has a nice clean fit and offers style that turns heads (in a good way).
Ecoths Social Cause
There has been a trend of brands focusing on doing good and I am all for it. Brands such as Ecoths and Toms focus on giving back on each product sold vs. looking at profit margins at the end of the year to determine whether they want to donate. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy seeing any company give back no matter what the form, but there are some forms of giving back that are more meaningful in my opinion.
For each garment Ecoths’ sells, 3 meals are donated to local food banks. Ecoths donated over 15,500 meals with the launch of their brand in Spring ’14 and they are slated to donate over 60,000 meals for all of 2014. In addition to giving back, Ecoths uses eco-friendly fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester in their styles.
Material and Patterns
The Ecoths Kingston LS Plaid shirt is made with 100% organic cotton that is very soft to the touch. The patterning of the shirt is similar to most plaid shirts which is timeless, meaning it won’t go out of style next season. For buttoning the shirt together, the Kingston LS uses snaps which I prefer over the typical button systems. Not to mention, snaps add a little more style as well. Along the shoulders, there are flaps that don’t offer any additional function to the shirt, but they are an added feature that give the shirt a little western swagger.
Ecoths Kinston LS Sizing
For sizing, the Kingston LS has a standard fit. I tested out a size medium and I am 6’0 tall and 170-175 lbs and found the shirt to fit true to size. This means its long enough for the average torso, chest, and arms. For actual measurements, please see below
Based on a size Medium
- Length: 29 in
- Chest Measurement: 42 in
- Sleeve Length: 35 in
If you find style and contributing towards social good are important factors you consider when making a purchase, the Ecoths Kingston LS plaid shirt is an excellent option. For more information on this shirt, please see below.
