After a full day out on the slopes, slipping on a super soft sweater feels amazing. The Isis Serena Sweater is an ideal choice as it features a combination of cotton, nylon, and merino wool to keep you cozy while sipping cocoa around the fire.
The Serena Sweater features a relaxed fit and a center back length of 25″. These two features allow the sweater to provide warmth without feeling too clingy. After a full day of wearing base layers, having some extra room is nice feature. The Serena Sweater ran true to size, however if you prefer a tighter fitting garment, then size down by one. The relax fit hangs nicely as the hem is more tapered, making it a good option when paired with skinny jeans and boots. The sleeves are plenty long and feature contrast coloring at the forearm and wrist. The Serena Sweater also features contrast stitching throughout, to add a bit of style as well. For instance, the Serena Sweater above, featured in Egglplant, has light purple stitching. While the Deep Ocean hue has darker contrast stitching.
My favorite feature of the Isis Serena Sweater is the over-sized funnel neck, which works to keep your neck warm, without causing constriction or discomfort like a traditional turtleneck. The funnel neck eliminates the need to add a scarf for extra style and warmth.
As for wear and tear, the Serena Sweater has pilled a bit under the arms and along the hips; two areas of high rubbing or friction with walking. I feel that the pilling is about on par with other cotton combo sweaters and will simply require regular maintenance with a sweater stone or brush. The Serena Sweater is easy to care for and has retained its’ shape with washing on the cold cycle, air drying on the drying rack, and tossed in the dryer to soften it up for about 5 minutes.
The ISIS Serena Sweater retails for $78 and is available in size XS to XL from www.amazon.com.
