Merrell Women’s Oleander Skirt Review
Merrell’s Oleander Skirt is ideal for any of the four seasons. The Oleander Skirt is made of a light weight linen-cotton-polyester combo, which will allow you to keep cool when the temperatures rise. Yet the color of the skirt, manganese, a medium gray, allows it to be worn in the winter months without looking out of place. I have been sporting the Oleander Skirt with my Chaco Mara boots (think riding style) this winter and can’t wait to wear this skirt in the summer with a pair of flip flops or flats.
The Oleander Skirt features a low rise and runs true to size. The size guide was very helpful as I have not worn many apparel items from Merrell and did not know what to expect with regards to generous vs spot on sizing. The skirt is quite flattering and comfortable. There is no need for a slip when wearing this skirt and the silhouette falls somewhere between pencil and a-line, which helps keep your legs moving freely without feeling constricted, like some pencil styled skirts. The Oleander Skirt features a zippered fly, two snap buttons at the top, and 4 belt loops. I like these features because it gives the skirt a more casual feel and allows you to accessorize with a fun belt. The Oleander Skirt also features two side pockets that are integrated into the bottom hem. These pockets help to break up the skirt and make it a little less plain as there are no hip or rear pockets. The skirt features a 20″ outseam and hits in the middle of the knees when worn at the hips (I am 5’9″). The model below shows the skirt hitting well above the knees, and I did not find this to be true for me as I have a 33″ inseam. If you are on the more petite size, perhaps try this skirt on in stores prior to purchasing to avoid an awkward length, etc. The skirt would be difficult to hem due to the pockets on each side.
The Oleander Skirt retails for $55 and will likely be an ideal travel piece due to its’ versatility. Look for additional Merrell apparel clothing reviews in the coming weeks as we check out a few more pieces.
