Mountain Hardwear Potala Long Sleeve Shirt Review
Are you looking for a casual top that not only looks great, but can also adapt to the ever-changing spring weather conditions? The Potala Long Sleeve Shirt by Mountain Hardwear truly fits the bill. The Potala is a new piece within the mountain lifestyle line and is recommended for around town use. The Potala is super soft against the skin thanks to an organic cotton/poly blend that was prewashed prior to distribution. There are side stretch panels that allow for moisture absorption, breathability, and quick drying capabilities. We unfortunately have not had the Potala long enough to speak to the low pill construction and Freshguard treatment which is designed to maintain an odor free and pill free garment. However, we will post an update later on this spring!
The Potala is versatile because the long sleeve can be conveniently become a short sleeve thanks to a convenient roll-up tab and button that keep the extra fabric secure. In addition, the buttons are spaced a bit closer than your standard button up which allows you to vent when you need to without exposing too much skin. The top also has a low-profile hood that is lined with the same material as the side paneling and offers added warmth and style. If you aren’t in to ironing, this is a real wash and wear piece that looks great even if you are picking it up off your closet floor (the stripe design really hides wrinkles!) We liked the side zip security pocket as well, you can stash your keys or chapstick without creating a bulging side pocket. The Potala retails for $60, which we feel is a fair price for a top that we plan on wearing til the snow flies next fall. The top comes in sizes 2-16 for a more specific fit; top runs true to size.
