With warmer temperatures in here to stay for the summer, having a good lightweight pair of pants in your wardrobe is essential for many of us guys. While I wear shorts for 90% of the time in warmer temperature seasons, I still enjoy a good pair of pantelones, as Mountain Khakis refers to them as. This season, Mountain Khakis introduced a new pant line called the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pant which is a lightweight khaki style of pant for men.
Mountain Khakis Poplin Pant Style
As with the majority of Mountain Khakis clothing, the Poplin Pant fits more into the casual category than a dress pant category. I have a job outside running this website where I have to dress up in dress pants and a dress shirt, unfortunately the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pant won’t cut it in dressed up professional work environments. For those who have a more relaxed work atmosphere, these pants will fit in just fine. For casual times, the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pants are just what the doctor ordered. There are two styles of these pants, more relaxed fit which are the Poplin Pants in regular form and the Broadway style which are a tighter more form fitting version. I tried on the Broadway style and found they fit a little too tight for my liking, so I recommend that style for skinnier guys or those that like a tight fit on the legs. For my personal preference, I like standard version because they are a little looser which allows me to completely relax in these pants.
As for the fit of these pants, I find that Mountain Khaki’s run a little small around the waist. I typically wear a 32×32 or 33×32, but in the Poplin Pant and other Mountain Khakis Pants I wear a 34×32. So if you try them on and develop a complex of gaining weight around the hips, don’t.
Details that Matter
As a long time user of Mountain Khakis products, I can attest quality is a mainstay of the brand. Along the leg, the seems are triple stitched which means they will hold up for many years to come. On the cuffs of the pant legs, Mountain Khakis incorporates what they call a “mud flap” which is a double layered piece of fabric that will last much longer if you tend to drag your cuffs on the ground. The material ratio in the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pant is 70% cotton and 30% polyester which breaths better than 100% cotton. The material used in the pant is very thin which is one of the reasons it does so well in warmer temps. Another feature worth mentioning in the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pants is the double pocket which allows you to separate your phone and other items that could scratch your screen.
Final Thoughts
If a lightweight pant is what you are looking for, the Mountain Khakis Poplin Pant is a great option for most guys out there. I have been very happy with the Poplin Pant and happily give them two thumbs up. For more information, please visit www.amazon.com/mountainkhakis.
