When you think of Woolrich, what comes to mind? Flannel? That was our first thought. Although Woolrich is famous for their flannels and other quality clothing, they have recently come out with a performance line that measures up with the rest of the outdoor industry.
We recently tested the Woolrich Weatherchaser Vest, which is made of a polyester outer shell and 90% polyester-10% cotton dry release liner. Woolrich calls this vest water resistant, but we would not want to be caught out in a down pour, only very light rain. This vest comes with 3 pockets; 2 side pockets and one chest pocket that covers almost all your needs when stashing an energy bar, camera, and cell phone on your outdoor activities, like hiking. The Weatherchaser is fairly stylish in its appearance, something you would be fine in wearing out on the town. The vest does have a faint cross stitch pattern that has a little country/hunting style to it, but it’s bearable. A technical vest, like the Woolrich Weatherchaser, is a great piece to have on almost any activity because it keeps your core warm, which is important when trying to regulate your body temperate in varying weather conditions.
