LE BENT is focused on enhancing experiences by providing comfort in the outdoors. The Feathertop Ultralight Hooded Long Sleeve Tee certainly meets that standard of comfort. LE BENT partnered with Nuyarn to create a Signature Merino Blend that combines twist-free Merino wool with bamboo. The result is an ultra-lightweight fabric that has purpose and functionality in all 4 seasons of the year. It is breathable, has 4-way stretch, soft on skin, odorless, offers SPF50+ sun protection and has a built in hood. A genius design!

Exceptional Function through Four Seasons

While living in a camper van, you come to appreciate items that have many uses. When you first hold the LE BENT Feathertop in your hands, you will be amazed at the softness and feather-light material. Once you put the fabric against your skin, you will recognize the versatility of this garment. I found that the wool properties of warmth and breathability were obvious and it made a beautiful base layer under my light jacket. The hood was very protective from the wind and sun and kept the heat in when I needed it to. As the day grew warmer, I shed my jacket and the shirt transitioned to a protective layer from the sun, while still breathing and regulating my temperature. I felt like the magic of the combined Merino wool and bamboo created a versatile shirt for all weather.

The Fit of the LE BENT Feathertop Tee

I ordered the Women’s cut of the Feathertop Tee. I would describe the fit as loosely fitted. I’m 6″ tall so I often struggle with garment and sleeve length. I was so please that the Feathertop sleeves had plenty of length for my long arms and the body was long enough to cover half of my backside. The shirt is made with flatlock seams over most of the design. I found that feature very comfortable since I am most often layering this shirt. The flat seams never felt bulky or scratchy and lay nicely against my skin. I ordered a medium and found it to be very true-to-size. I wouldn’t recommend going up or down in size for a perfect fit.

When testing out new clothing, I like to see how many wears I can get out of it before it is stretched out or smelly. The Feathertop really performed in this department. I am on about wear #15 (without a wash, I know) and still have not seen the stretched out elbows and chest that I would normally see with a wool base layer. The 4-way stretch property of this shirt keeps if performing well. The material is holding up nicely with no balling or wear evident anywhere on the shirt. The Merino/bamboo blend is clearly very durable. It is also very odor resistant!  I’ve taken it on two backpacking trips and worn it the entire time and still no stink!
