Lululemon Seawall Track Pant ii Review
During the cooler weather months, a pair of track pants are great for both before, during, and after activity as well as lounging around the house. In the last couple of months, I’ve been able to test out the Lululemon Seawall Track Pant ii in which I used them for all the purposes just mentioned. In general, the Seawall Track Pant ii is made Lululemon style, which means style and function are fighting head to head for importance.
When I hear the phrase track pants, I usually think old school thick and heavy lined adidas pants, similar to the breakaway pants basketball players wear. In the case of Lululemon, the designers took this pant far past the old school track pants. The Lululemon Seawall Track Pant ii is made with a nylon quick-dry material that sits nicely against the skin before, during, and after activity. I tested these pants out while hiking and running and did not find one time where the pants clinged to my legs. This obviously depends on how warm of temperatures you are running in and how much your legs sweat. For my testing conditions, it was generally 40-50 degrees and a couple of times in the 60’s. If by chance you start to heat up, there are cinch cords at the bottom of each leg so you can pull up each leg and they will stay up. In my mind, scrunched up nylon pants are not all that fashionable for most men, but the function is good. Another area in which fashion and function clash a little in these pants is the wide elastic waistband. At first, I didn’t exactly love this feature, but the more I wore the pants, I found the waistband to be comfortable. This waistband holds the pants up much better than your typical waistband which comes in more useful during activities such as yoga.
Lululemon Seawall Track Pant ii Style
I have to be honest, I live in Colorado and I usually like the mountain man look. No, I don’t eat granola and drink green smoothies all day long, but dressing up and looking fancy isn’t my thing either. You might ask yourself, how does this correlate into a pair of track or running pants? Well, with Lululemon’s brand heritage, fashion is important. One of the features that sets this nylon pant apart from other athletic nylon pants is that they are slightly pinstriped. Some people like the pinstripes, some don’t. I am ok with the pinstripes, but if I had the choice, I would go with no pinstripes. I am 6’0 tall and have average length legs for my height and I find the pants to sit from hip to feet pretty well. They go just past my feet when I don’t wear shoes, but this is pretty standard for running pants.
Features Worth Noting
The Lululemon Seawall Track Pant ii has a couple features worth noting. For storage, there are a number of pockets to use. In specific, there are two open side hip pockets, one zippered side leg pocket, and two pockets on the back. Very similar to a pair of jeans with an additional zippered pocket. The pants look like they might have a zippered fly, but this is only for fashion, so you’ll have to drop your pants if you want to go to the bathroom.
If you’re looking for a pair of pants that is a good all-around athletic nylon pant, the Lululemon Track Pant ii is a great option. I’ve found these pants to be extremely comfortable, functional, and fashionable on all levels. These pants retail for $118 which for most nylon pants is a bit expensive, but if you’re more focused on function and style then this should not deter you.
