Lululemon Sweat Session 1/2 Zip Review
A little while back, Lululemon reached out to ActiveGearReview.com to see if we wanted to test and review some of their men’s activewear. Having seen their clothing around for a while, I have always had a curiosity to see if the products perform as good as they look. I have typically associated Lululemon with women’s yoga pants and tops and while that still remains a hot product line for the brand, menswear’s is up and coming and should not be ignored. In this review, I’ll be focusing on the Lululemon Sweat Session 1/2 Zip top and there are a number of other men’s Lululemon reviews to come.
Lululemon Sweat Session 1/2 Zip

Hiking in the Lululemon Sweat Session 1/2 Zip at the Maroon Bells in Aspen, CO
The Sweat Session 1/2 zip is your similar to many of the high end 1/2 zip shirts on the market. This shirt is a great option for fall and winter running and hiking, using it as a ski base or mid-layer, and everyday use around town and your home. The Lululemon Session 1/2 Zip is thicker than your typical baselayer which helps keep you warm in the cooler temperatures. This 1/2 zip uses Lululemon’s Soft Rulu fabric which is their version of moisture-wicking fabric. Through my testing, I found this material to do a nice job at pulling moisture(sweat) off my body and transferring it to the outside of the shirt while running and hiking which helps in preventing your skin from getting chilled on cooler days.

Thumbholes in sleeve
Instead of cutting a hole in the sleeve for thumbholes, the designers at Lululemon added a small piece of fabric with thumbholes which I find as a nice feature. On super cold days, the hole in the sleeve on traditional 1/2 can let in unwanted cool air and on the days when you don’t need or want to use the thumbholes, they are hidden. Around the neck of the shirt, there is a reflective liner which helps keep you visible while running in the dark.

Fabric and Sizing
The fabric is super soft and buttery feeling, so it’s comfortable while running, hiking, etc. and it doubles as a great lounging around the house piece. For use in active pursuits, I found the design to be accurate as there were no hot spots or odd chaffing areas on my skin while wearing this top. I tested out a size medium and I am 6’0 tall and 173lbs. The top fits snug, but not too snug.
