Saucony’s been around the block a few times, which means from top to bottom, they rarely ever get it wrong. The men’s transition half zip definitely gets it right. We found it to be a great piece to throw over your normal favorite shirt for an early morning or late evening run, or any time when the weather is just on the chilly side. The nice part of the half zip is that while it’s warm enough to help you through a chilly start, it breathes well enough to stay on for the sweaty finish. A couple of nice touches to the half zip were the addition of VIZIPRO, which is a reflective surface that helps (when that jerk flying down the highway at 5am needs to see you way over on the side of the road before he spills coffee all over his lap and hits you at 45 mph) keep you visible in low light conditions, and a zipper pocket on your arm which is just big enough to fit a key or MP3 player. The seams have been “shifted” to avoid chafing, and are flat construction – which basically means they don’t scratch the crap out of you on mile 12. All in all, a great pullover which has managed to get all of those annoying “little” things right, because Saucony knows that over the long haul, little things become big problems.
