SmartWool TML Light SportKnit 1/4 Zip Review
As old man winter continues to frequent our doorsteps, having the right winter gear continues to be important for our day to day activities as well as our outdoor adventures. I’ve been testing out the Smartwool TML Light SportKnit sweater over the past few months in both active and casual settings. The look of the sweater is sporty yet classy and I found it a great piece to wear apre ski and holiday parties as far as style goes. I tested out a size medium and I am 6’0 tall, 175lbs, add 5 lbs with holiday butter cookies… I found a medium to be a perfect size for both outdoor activities and lifestyle use. The sweater had a nice fit on the side, not too bulky or wide and it was long enough to keep out the cold near my waist.
This sweater is made of 95% merino wool, 4% nylon, and 1% elastic. The Merino wool provides plenty of warmth on frigid days while being a great moisture wicker during high intensity activties such as skiing and snowshoeing. The 1/4 zip allows additional ventilation in case you just can’t cool down. I really enjoy the 1/4 zip tops for their temperature regulation qualities and I think they look pretty cool too. For those of you whole are thumb hole lovers, the TML Light Sportknit will be just the right answer for you. Some problems that I sometimes come across with thumbholes in a baselayer is that the sleeve length is too short and the fabric cuts into my skin between my thumb and pointer finger. This was not a problem is this top, and I tend to have a little longer arms than average.
The SmartWool TML Light SportKnit 1/4 Zip retails for $130 which I find to be consistant with other high end outdoor styled sweaters. For more information, please visit Smartwool.com
