I am not sure I can say all the things I love about Helly Hansens Womens Pace LS 1/2 Zip in this review! The second I put on the Pace LS 1/2 Zip I knew it was a keeper. I know I am like many women who lets say…..like to look good while they are working out. Even though I am not a super model, my clothes do me justice and Helly Hansens Pace LS 1/2 Zip is a closet necessity for its performance & style!
Since I started talking about fashion first I better continue with the overall look of the Pace LS 1/2 Zip. The Pace LS 1/2 Zip is a form fitting pull over long sleeve athletic jersey. In the front, the 1/2 Zip starts mid chest and zips up to a small collar. The 1/2 Zip allows you to be in control of your ventilation. Fabric is placed between the zipper and your skin around the neck area to prevent any chafing or skin irritation. There is silver reflective striping along the right side of the zipper to keep you visible on your late night adventures. Wide flatlock stitching starts at the collar and extends down to underneath the armpit down the sides and extends a little forward in the bottom front to enhance a womens curves. The flatlock stitching not only aids in design, it helps keep the jerseys flattering figure. The flatlock stitching is smooth and will not cause any chafing or skin irritation while you are on your high speed pursuits.
The backside of the Pace LS 1/2 Zip is full of detail and design. Across the upper back there is a slightly reflective striped overlay. I say slightly reflective because it is not like the silver reflective lining that lines the zipper. The striping has a duller more matte look to it. I would say it does have some reflective properties, however, I’m not going to say it is reflective enough to keep you visible on the road in the dark. Down the middle of the back Helly Hansen integrated their Coolgrid technology. The Coolgrid technology has larger holes to keep air circulating throughout the jersey. The technology wicks moisture away from your skin to keep you cool and dry. On the bottom of the Pace LS 1/2 Zip there is a zippered seat pocket. The pocket is large enough to store a few credit cards or keys. I have fit my iPhone in it, but it was a tight squeeze.
I’ve talked about the style and some technology, but now we will talk about the most important part, the performance. The entire Helly Hansen Pace LS 1/2 Zip is made with Helly Hansens Cool with Lifa Stay Dry Technology. Extremely small holes are placed throughout the fabric. These small holes provide your body with constant airflow and the cooling technology wicks your bodies moisture away keeping you cool and dry throughout your entire adventure. I typically do not work out in long sleeves. I get easily overheated, so I was a little hesitant to work out in the Pace LS 1/2 Zip. Helly Hansens Cooling Technology is so amazing that even on warmer days I was able to stay cool whether I was hiking, biking, or running. The polyester/polypropylene blend is ultra lightweight. I have hiked quite a bit in the Pace LS 1/2 Zip in temperatures that range from 50-90 degrees. I have been able to easily control my temperature by the Cooling Technology integrated throughout the jersey and the 1/2 Zipper for quick and easy ventilation.
The Pace LS 1/2 Zip comes in 3 sporty colors: Begonia, White & Black. Like with any Helly Hansen clothing, please try it on before you buy. Helly Hansen tends to run small. I ordered a medium and it fits perfect, but I am a size small according to Helly Hansens size & fitting guide.
