If you were in love with the Pace Singlet by Helly Hansen last year, then your heart will fall in love all over again with the 2012 New Pace Singlet. Helly Hansen made a few small changes to color and design to give the New Pace Singlets eye catching design stand out in any crowd.
I adored the 2011 Pace Singlet and was ecstatic to have the opportunity to review the 2012 New Pace Singlet. Adding another Pace Singlet by Helly Hansen to my running attire makes me even more fashionable while hitting the pavement!
The New Pace Singlet is ultra lightweight. Quite honestly, I have not tried on a singlet that is lighter than the New Pace Singlet. The paper-thin polyester & polypropylene blend ensure that the New Pace Singlet is feather light to keep you cool and comfortable. Helly Hansen put their Lifa stay dry technology into the New Pace Singlet. Extremely small holes are placed throughout the fabric. The cooling technology wicks your bodies moisture away keeping you cool and dry throughout your entire adventure. I have worn the New Pace Singlet multiple times on my 12-14 mile runs in 70-90 degree weather. I tend to sweat like a boy when I run and I’m always lifting up my singlets to wipe perspiration away. I have noticed out of habit, I’ve been lifting the New Pace Singlet up to wipe sweat away, however, I have been almost completely dry every time. The small holes keep air circulating throughout the entire singlet, which makes me one cool runner. The Cool Grid Fabric that lines the middle of the back has the same features as the Lifa stay dry technology, but on a larger scale. Along with the amazing wicking features the Cool Grid Fabric adds extra design, comfort, and style.
The New Pace Singlet has flatlock stitching so the seams are flat and smooth. The wide flatlock stitching ensures that you will have no irritation or chafing during those long training runs. The New Pace Singlet is form fitting and has 2 flatlock stitch lines running down the middle on the front of the singlet. The stitching adds extra detailed design as well as aiding in support and enhancing your girl curves. Last years Pace Singlet had fabric bunching detail on the mid/upper bust line. This year the New Pace Singlet does not have the bunching detail. I prefer the no bunching since the bunching never really flattered my smaller girls!
Like last years model, the New Pace Singlet sports UV Protection Factor (UPF) 30+. I am a little ridiculous when it comes to my sunscreen, I will lube myself up from head to toe before going outside. Helly Hansen gets an A+ in my book for adding UPF to some of their outdoor clothing. It is satisfying knowing that I have extra protection to ward off those harmful UV rays.
I always grab my Pace Singlet for long runs because of its superior comfort and cooling technology. I know I won’t be pulling at, itching, or overheating while I’m running and now I have a New Pace Singlet to add to my rotation!
If you have a chance, please try on the New Pace Singlet before purchasing. Helly Hansen’s clothes tend to run small. I measure a small on the size guide, however, I ordered a medium. The medium fits perfect and I’m afraid the small would have been way to small for me.
The New Pace Singlet comes in 4 flashy colors this year: Azure Blue, Begonia, White & Black.
