Fun details and super comfy material make and the Lucy Reverse The Cold Tights a solid choice for winter lounging, kicking around town or a workout.
Fabric
My absolute favorite thing about the LucyReverse the Cold Tights is the super soft, slightly stretchy material. As soon as I took the Reverse The Cold Tights out of the box, I was amazed at how soft the material is. The 87% polyester, 13% Spandex pants feel almost like a super soft fleece rather a poly/spandex blend. They feel thin and lightweight while wearing them, but the material is thicker and tightly woven so you don’t risk showing off too much at the gym. Though they are reversible and have a different color/pattern on one side, there is only a single layer of fabric. Being a synthetic blend, the material is breathable and wicks moisture, but I would definitely not consider them my most technical or warm tights. I did also find that the material attracted link and other debris quite easily.
How do the Lucy Reverse The Cold Tights Fit?
The fit and cut of the Lucy Reverse The Cold Tights are spot on. They are true to size and the size chart on Lucy.com is accurate. I would caution that the length is shorter than most other active brands. I’m 5’2” and these were the perfect length on me, so they may be a tad short on longer-legged gals. The waistband is wide and sits below the natural waistline which is both flattering and comfortable. There is a drawstring ribbon in the waist for added adjustability, but I don’t think it is very functional, especially if you order the correct size. I found that the pants stayed in place just fine even during workouts without any adjustment.
Features
The Lucy Reverse The Cold Tights have their most prominent feature in the name, they’re reversible. While this is a cool feature that can extend your workout wardrobe, it is unlikely that I will continue to make use of this feature. The outside quite obviously has a higher quality finish to it, whereas the inside doesn’t have as nice of seams, style, or details. Three details that I really liked in the Lucy Reverse the Cold Tights that don’t transfer when reversed are the cute ruched cuffs at the ankles, the reflective details on the ankles and the contrasting stitching. Also, a few of the seams aren’t flat and look a little like they are inside out when worn reversed. In addition to the cute details, the Reverse The Cold Tights have a envelope pocket built into the waistband. It doesn’t have a secure closure though, so I avoided putting anything too valuable in it.
Overall
Generally, I like Lucy Reverse the Cold Tights, particularly because of the soft material. They are very comfortable, easy to wear, and flattering. While I did wear them for several indoor and outdoor workouts, they were best for shorter or lower-intensity workouts, curling up by a fire, or for an active day outdoors that isn’t necessarily a big-time sweat session. The Reverse The Cold Tights come in two color options and are available at www.backcountry.com/lucy.
