Merrell Lithos Tank Review
While Merrell was originally known for their shoes, over the years they have ventured into the clothing scene with technical and casual wear for active lifestyles. The Merrell Lithos tank is a multi-functional, stylish tank with a supportive built-in bra.
Merrell Lithos Tank Materials
The Lithos Tank is constructed of two primary materials. The main body sections in the front and back are Merrell’s Cool Compress material which is 88% Nylon and 12% Spandex. The Cool Compress material is soft, stretchy, and about the thickness of a traditional cotton t-shirt. The material wicks moisture well and the thickness keeps it from being clingy or showing unwanted lines. The other material that is used in the side insets, Space Dye Stretch Jersey, is 94% Polyester and 6% Spandex. This material is thinner and feels more like a traditional tech material or spandex. Bother materials wick moisture and breathe very efficiently and appear to be very durable. After several wearings and washings they have no pulled or pilled.
Merrell Lithos Tank Style
The Merrell Lithos Tank has a unique style that is like a combination of a racer back and halter top. The tank has two thick elastic straps that are adjustable that criss-cross in the back and create a large keyhole in the mid-back. The adjustability of the straps is key to creating a perfect fit and providing support for the built-in bra. The built-in sports bra is made of the Cool Compress material with power mesh inserts for added breathability. The sports bra is supportive enough for hiking, yoga, and light activity, but I would not be comfortable with only the tank for higher impact activities like running or cross-training.
Fit & Features of the Lithos Tank
The Merrell Lithos Tank has a sleek fit without being tight or revealing. The side insets are designed with angled seams which provide a flattering look and allow the tank to move well with you. Falling just below the hips, the length keeps you covered even when lengthening through yoga poses.
The primary features of the Lithos tank are definitely the stylish design and built-in sports bra, but Merrell also added a few other features like a back key pocket. The key pocket is small and doesn’t securely close, but does feature grip tape making it a bit more secure.
Overview
Overall, I’ve really liked the Merrell Lithos Tank. I’ve worn it hiking, for yoga, camping, and around the house for errands. My only complaint is that the criss-cross straps can make it a little confusing and difficult to put on without getting tangled. If you’re looking for an all around good tank for light to medium activities Merrell’s Lithos Tank is worth checking out. It comes in black, coral, and sapphire, sizes xxs – xl.
