New Balance Impact Short Sleeve Top Review

I really appreciate how many brands are incorporating more style into women’s workout wear. New Balance has brought style and functionally to much of its women’s line and the Impact Short Sleeve is no exception.
The Impact short sleeve is made of a 100% polyester woven material, Icefil®, that is said to actually help lower the temperature of the skin up to two degrees while the body is working and heating up. To be honest, I can’t say for sure if it was the lightweight material, the full side vents, or the full venting down the back that kept me cool, but this top did keep me cool in the hot Colorado sun. Not only did it keep me cool, but it also dried quickly.
As I mentioned, the Impact top features full mesh sides and a large mesh panel down the center of the back which were great for airflow and ventilation both indoors and out. In addition the top has front and back reflectivity making sure you’ll be seen when your run goes a little longer than expected and you’re caught out at dusk.
The style elements of the Impact top are the cut and the variety of colors available. The sleeves don’t have any seams at the shoulders. They almost wrap around the top of the shoulder then are finished with a wide hem. The bottom hemline has a slightly arched shape in the back and the overall length is hits at or below the hips for added coverage during running and jumping. These stylistic features are nice but I found the body of the top combined with the single panel shoulders to looks little boxy on my broad shoulders.This may not be the case for everyone.
To top is a very versatile and extremely comfortable top that performed well for me for a variety of workouts. It has washed well and is odor resistant even after being crammed into a bag all day after a sweaty workout.
