The ZAMST HA-1 Compression Sock
Initial thoughts on the ZAMST Compression Socks
The ZAMST HA-1 Compression socks with G-Fit Technology are a great addition for any athlete. A key piece of equipment for runners, hikers, cyclists and individuals who are on their feet all day. Upon opening the package, I immediately fell in love with the vibrant pink color. Subsequently, many of my running partners and colleagues complimented on my socks. I really wanted to test these compression socks during some longer mountain runs. Since I am in the medical industry, the benefit of being able to test them at work came in quite handy.
Technical Features for the ZAMST
As advertised the ZAMST HA -1 compression socks with the built in fit technology provided anatomically correct support for both ankles and knees. The socks should definitely be worn according to the specified design (Lt/Rt foot). They’ve configured the sock in such a manner that the knitting technology stabilizes the heal in a neutral position. This technology then lifts the arch of the foot to prevent it from leaning inward. The G-Fit is the gradient compression construction that improves blood flow, increases oxygenation and enhances performance.

The ZAMST HA-1 after a long trail run – Still looking good.
Performance
My first trail run in the ZAMST HA-1 compression socks was wonderful. I took them out on the 401 Trail in Crested Butte, CO. My 14+ mile run lasted about 2 hours, and I never felt fatigued! In fact I could have continued for many more miles had time permitted. The compression socks felt comfortable, I noticed improved circulation, and my calf muscles never felt restrictive. After this first run with the ZAMST HA -1 compression socks, I was on a mission to determine one of two things. I was either on a euphoric high because of my epic trail run, or my performance had something to do with the ZAMST HA-1 socks. I will have to assume that it was a bit of both. I continued to wear them on multiple runs without ever being disappointed or feeling any tiredness.
In addition, any given day I’m on my feet for 6-8 hours hunched over an operating table. Hence, I wanted to put he ZAMST HA-1 compression socks to the test at work. Again, they were very comfortable, and there was a noticeable reduction in lower extremity swelling. The compression socks worked wonders on the circulation from my ankle to my calf muscles. This provided relief for my feet to not have any fluid build up after a long day. When I took the socks off, there was a bit of tingling. Presumable this was the compressed circulation being relieved. It was transient and went away within minutes. In addition the ZAMST HA-1 maintained their size and shape without any stretching. After a few cycles in the washing machine the socks maintained their shape, color and durability.

Still smiling after my epic trail run with my running buddy, Moab.
