prAna Kelton Pant Review

During the summer, it’s nice to wear pants from time to time for casual wear, but a thicker pair of pants just won’t cut it. The prAna Kelton Pants are made of a textured lightweight hemp and cotton blend so they breath very well and won’t overheat you. As these pants are linen like, they give off a certain style that some people enjoy while others don’t like all that much. I personally like the linen look, which is why I am writing about them here.

The prAna Kelton pants are the perfect companion while traveling. I recently took them on my trip to Costa Rica and found the pants to fit the bill while traveling through the airports and on the cooler summer nights. As these pants are super soft, they almost feel like a pair of old school sweatpants as far as comfort goes. The good thing, they don’t look like an old school pair of sweatpants. I felt plenty comfortable in casual to nicer restaurants and bars.

The pockets in the prAna Kelton pant are angled down the leg from the hip, so they are easy to get into. The pockets are plenty big, so you can fit a little more than a typical pair of jeans or khakis. For the back pockets, you get one zippered wallet pocket and one Velcro pocket for security. This gave me a little piece of mind while traveling out of the country.

The fit of the prAna Kelton pant is loose, but not too loose. The legs are a little tapered toward the foot, so I feel they look best with flip flops or sandals. If you end up taking them out for a hike or any other physical activity, there is a gusseted crotch that allows for a good range of movement and there are a few venting holes for breathability. One thing that I have found in prAna pants and shorts in years past is that their built in belt is too big and that it never cinched down far enough. I found the designers got it right in the Kelton and I was able to cinch them down plenty. The one downside to these pants and other linen pants is that they wrinkle super easy if you live in a dry climate. I suggest drying them on medium heat with a wet towel to help keep them from getting too wrinkled.
