BioLogic BIKE MOUNT WEATHERCASE™
BioLogic Bike Mount WeatherCase™ Overview:
As an avid Strava user, I rarely go for a ride without my phone in tow. Depending on the type of ride I’m going on, it can be cumbersome to put my phone in my jersey pocket or in my pack. Add the possibility of rain to the equation and you might be buying yourself a new phone at the end of your ride. BioLogic’s Bike Mount WeatherCase™ is the solution for cyclists who want to bring their phones on rides, and want to eliminate the risk of any weather induced damage. The Biologic Bike Mount comes with a weatherproof case for your phone, and an AnchorPoint bracket for mounting the phone to the bike’s handlebars. Installing the BioLogic Bike Mount WeatherCase™ is quick and painless. The only tool required for installation is a 4mm hex wrench (wrench not included). The WeatherCase™ has several installation options. You can install your phone with a horizontal or vertical orientation on your stem or handlebars. The installation kit comes with a 0 and 10 degree base so you can dial in the positioning of your phone.

BioLogic Installation Kit
When I received the Biologic Bike Mount, I was in the process of getting ready for a trip to Fruita, Colorado for some mountain biking. I decided to install this product on my Santa Cruz Superlight 29er. Originally, I wanted to install the mount on the stem of my bike in the vertical position. However, my stem was too short to accommodate the AnchorPoint bracket. Biologic’s site does address product compatibility for handlebar diameter (25.4 – 31.8 mm), but does not address compatibility for stem length. Since I could not install the product on my stem, I opted to install the WeatherCase™ on my handlebar in the vertical position. After doing a fit check, I locked the mount down to my handlebars using the zip ties included in the installation kit. Now, I was ready for Fruita!

Installation took 5 minutes!
BioLogic Bike Mount WeatherCase™ in the Field:
When I got to the top of 18 road, I put my Samsung Galaxy S4 in the WeatherCase™ and zipped it in place. The fit is snug and the phone felt securely attached to my bike. One small issue I noticed is that the power button on the phone was being pushed in by the case. As a result, when I went to “wake” my phone up, I accidentally turned the phone off. I quickly learned that applying less pressure to the button resolved the issue. After getting the phone in its case, I installed the WeatherCase™ on the AnchorPoint on my handlebars. Right off the bat, I felt confident that the phone was locked in placed and would not fly off the bars during one of my rides. I ran the phone through techy lines and flow tracks including several jumps. The phone stayed locked in place regardless of the terrain I rode. When we stopped for a break, I tried out the screen through the case’s plastic. It was surprisingly responsive and I experienced no issues. I also called my wife, and did not notice any disturbances during the call. Finally, I tried taking a picture through the “window” on the back of the case and the photo came out as if I took the photo without the phone in the case. After twenty miles of riding, it was time to take the phone out of its case. The case itself was covered in dirt and mud, but the phone came out without a speck of dirt of mud. At the end of the day, I was pleased with the case’s performance.

Still locked in place after the first few runs
BioLogic Bike Mount WeatherCase™ Final Thoughts:
Installation is easy and only requires one tool. If you are not concerned about gaining a few grams, and adding some drag, this a great solution for your road bike. This product is also an excellent choice for bike commuters. If your stem is shorter then 2 inches, and you want a stem mounted solution, this may not be the product for you. If you have a quiver of bikes and want to switch the mount between bikes you will need to buy additional AnchorPoints. Since the AnchorPoint is zip tied to your bike you do not have the luxury of moving it from bike to bike. If you NEED to have music while you ride, this mount will not work for you. The case does not have a hole that allows you to plug your headphones in. I guess that issue could be resolved if you have a set of Bluetooth headphones. Overall, the BioLogic Bike Mount WeatherCase™ is a cost effective solution for those who want a reliable weatherproof bike mount for their phones.
