High-Performance LED Personal Safety Beacon Takes Lessons From Aircraft Safety Devices
Delta Cycle, maker of “unordinary gear” for over three decades, released its innovative new Bkin personal safety device. The compact, portable Bkin was built with an understanding of the safety concerns posed by distracted driving, making pedestrian visibility day and night paramount to personal safety. Each day in the United States, approximately nine people are killed and more than 1,000 are injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver: someone texting, holding their smartphone to their ear, eating, watching a navigation system or simply chatting to a passenger. With Bkin, you aren’t just visible, you’re recognized. A unique flash pattern inspired by aircraft safety beacons and an unmatched range of light draws attention to you at any time of day, be it going for an evening run, walking to school or taking your dog for a stroll.
“Planes and helicopters use pulsing lights to ensure that they are highly visible to other aircraft – day and night,” said Delta Cycle CEO Errol Drew. “Automotive manufacturers have taken a page from this book in the creation of commonly used daytime running lights. As a general aviation pilot myself, I marveled at the fact that no one had taken this level of safety to consumer activities. The reality is that, while it’s gotten increasingly safer for car passengers in the event of a crash, smartphones and texting have changed the game for unwitting pedestrians. The Bkin is our answer to this. Inspired by the flashing white navigation lights on aircraft that can be seen for miles even in full daylight, the Bkin’s innovative design delivers the most power and functionality available in a device of its size—small enough to fit in a pocket.”
Unlike other personal safety lights, the Bkin has a proprietary lens developed by optical engineering experts to optimize the light output for visibility at any angle, up to 120 degrees. This ensures a reach of 1,000 feet in daylight and 3,000 feet at night with a wide viewing angle. Turn on the pulse mode for an extra eye-catching flash or switch to a constant mode to illuminate a dark path. Bkin brings much needed pedestrian visibility to any outdoor activity. Users simply use the secure clip to attach to clothes, backpacks or a pet’s collar, or the included easy-to-use mount to secure to bicycles, scooters and strollers.
The Bkin runs for 12+ hours on a single charge in safety pulsing mode at full power. When the battery runs low, Bkin plugs directly into a USB port for easy charging without the need for messy cables or cords. This makes it simple to boost battery life at home, in the car or on the go.

I can’t see any way to buy a Bkin light for delivery here in Australia. You seem to have forgotten we exist. OK, we’re only .6 of one percent of the world’s population and you’re in the game to make money.
Hey Steve,
Thanks for the comment. We would never forget about you guys and gals down in Australia! Here is the thing though Steve, our website does not sell product of any kind, we are here to bring the public information on emerging trends, new technologies, and detailed reviews of the latest in outdoor gear.
As for Bkin (Delta Cycle), I see that they do not ship to Australia, which is unfortunate. However after some quick investigation, Bkin is for sale on eBay with worldwide shipping, that will probably be your best bet.
