Feedback Sports Pro Elite Bike Repair Stand
Do the tools of the trade actually make you better at a particular craft? That, of course is debatable. You still have to have the know-how and god given talent to tackle serious problems. I do whole heartedly believe that the Feedback Sports Pro-Elite Work Stand can and will make you better at tinkering or fixing your beloved bicycle. I am excited to find out if this will be the case for my somewhat limited skills.
First Thoughts on the Feedback Sports Pro Elite Work Stand w/ tote bag
So, I’m your ‘C’ average bike mechanic. I can change my tire, can clean my bike quite well, and can even exchange out a component or two. The Pro-Elite Work Stand is my ticket to becoming a certified B- bike mechanic. That’s right, out of the doldrums of your average Joe tinkering on his bike to a glorified derailleur adjusting wrench. I am now in the big leagues, baby. Seriously though, the ability to be able to properly secure your bike to tighten, adjust, replace, or simply clean is a luxury that will make even me a slightly better bicycle mechanic. I still can’t make my bike sing and hum as sweet as my LBS wrench, but I can at least get at the problem to ascertain if the repair is something I can do or should leave to the professionals.
A compact bag for storage keeps everything nice and contained preventing any damage to the stand, and whatever it may come in contact with. I am busy, time is of the essence, and being able to quickly set the stand up in my garage was key. I normally put off any bike work, and have to really make it a big focus to actually get to cleaning, repairing, or tinkering with my small fleet of bikes. Now, I can quickly erect the stand in my garage, throw the bike on, and go about my business.

40 pound genuine Dutch commuter at 6′ height.
In its simplicity lies its beauty. A couple of twist and turns to tighten the bolts adjust the height, and clamp on the bike is really all you need. The stand is beautiful. It’s shiny, smooth, and demands all the visual respect I can throw at it. Truth be told is that as I focus more and more on the bikes and their repairs, the Feedback Sports Pro Elite Bike repair stand is becoming an excellent silent partner. I can make quick adjustments as needed without a second thought.
Technical Specifications and Features for the Feedback Sports Pro-Elite Work Stand
The Ratcheting Quick Release Clamp is the star of the show, so I’ll highlight that here. Simply loosen the Large Tri-Knob, unfold the Clamp Arm up into a level position, and retighten the Tri Knob. That’s it. Now here’s the cool part, push the red Quick-Release button to open the Clamp Jaws, place the seatpost of your bike into the inside of the Jaw, and push the sliding Jaw closed. With a few simple turns of the Small Tri-Knob you are ready to go. To remove the bike all you have to do is hold it tightly, and push the red Quick-Release button.

Performance
First, let’s set this thing up, and explore the wonderful features mentioned above. The three legged base with rubber footcaps can handle an advertised weight limit of 85 pounds. The Leg Fitting easily pushes down to extend the 3 legs, and quickly locks in place through a Leg Fitting Lock Lever. This is definitely sturdy enough to handle my rides that range from the 14 pound pink strider to the Authentic Dutch commuter which weighs in at about 40 pounds.
The Feedback Sports Pro Elite legs go out 27 inches in three directions to provide a solid support base even on uneven ground. The Bike repair stand goes up to a height of 6’, and I would suggest using some caution when you go up to that height to ensure it doesn’t topple on you. One recommendation is to position the arm in the direction to be aligned right above one of the legs. This gives the stand that little bit of extra support.
The great thing that I am looking forward to is having the ability to throw this in my trunk to do some last minute adjustments as I head out to the trailhead for a ride. I live within a half hour of some awesome Rocky mountain Front range riding, and once I start driving to hit the trails, my single focus is on Mountain biking. That’s when I can start to prepare for all things MTB. Tires, brakes, shifting, and to making sure that my steed is singing a sweet tune that will allow me to hit the mountains without that annoying rubbing, grinding, or chain skipping.

A most important repair to the ‘Pink Princess’ – A flat front tire and training wheel removal.
Great timing, as I recently received a new Shimano Ultegra front and rear cassette for my Titanium beauty. I was able to remove the old worn down sprockets easier than expected. Installation became a thing of beauty as I felt the proud accomplishment of getting my bike road ready. A quick derailleur adjustment, and I was back on the road in no time.
And yes, my 5 year old needed her front tire fixed, and it’s high time that those training wheels come off. Easy enough. The great thing was that she grabbed a bucket and a sponge, and stared cleaning her bike with pride. Will this stand become a generational heirloom? Probably not, but it was cute to see how she was emulating daddy.

Taking care of your bike!
Final Thoughts on the Feedback Sports Pro Elite Bike Repair Stand
The Feedback Sports Pro Elite Bike Repair Stand is a great addition to any garage or basement work space if you own and enjoy the beauty and simplicity of riding your bike. A simple tube change will go much easier, and avoids that dreaded bike fall or scratching of the brake hoods or saddle when placed upside down. I will recommend you check out the entire line that Feedback Sports has to offer. For example, a simple Tool Tray will be a really good companion. I plan on picking one up for sure.
