PEARL iZUMi’s new Wanderer Collection is inspired by the Grateful Dead’s July 8, 1978 performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. This is Pi’s third release paying tribute to the iconic band.
Designer Bri Hammer took inspiration from the word “wandered,” a lyric in the band’s song “Wharf Rat”, to name the the new PEARL iZUMi and Grateful Dead Apparel collection. The vibrant designs featured are an interpretation of how the band’s stage lighting reflected off the two giant, iconic sand stone rocks, which created a magical and iridescent musical experience.
The Wanderer collection features PEARL iZUMi’s top mountain bike apparel: the women’s Prospect Tank, men’s and women’s Summit Short Sleeve Jersey, men’s Summit 3/4 Jersey, men’s and women’s Summit Shell Short, PRO Tall Sock, a water bottle and a junior Summit Jersey.
“Nature has created some of the most beautiful places to ride. But it also has created one of the best places in the world to listen to your favorite band,” said Hammer. “Once the sun goes behind the Rocky Mountains and the lights turn on… Red Rocks Amphitheatre comes to life! I wanted to create a pattern that emulates this experience and showcases the beautiful harmony of the music, lights and rocks dancing together.”
