Arm and knee warmers are a great way to stretch your cycling wardrobe and be ready for what greets you outside. During the spring and fall season temperatures can range widely and change on a dime. Or maybe you have to get on the bike early in the morning when the temperature is still cold. Either way, arm and knee warmers are easy to put on and take off stow easily into your jersey pocket. And allow you to regulate your temperature as needed. The ThermaFleece warmers from Pearl Izumi offer more protection from the cold and wind than standard warmers.
The ThermaFleece material is a bit thicker and warmer than regular warmers. This is most important for the knee warmers. On cold days protecting your knees is vital to avoid an injury. I found myself using these warmers often simply to provide my legs with more protection from the elements. I’m also a fan of using arm warmers more than putting on a long sleeve jersey. The versatility to use a short sleeve jersey, a vest and arm warmers means I have more options to regulate my temperature once out on the road.
Both warmers are made with multiple panels that mimic the body. From the contrast stitching it is easy to see how each piece is specifically designed to fit your arm or leg. I found that both items fit very well. This is especially critical in a knee warmer due to the continual motion. At no time did I experience any bunching or sagging from the knee warmers. The grippers used are large but not scratchy or irritating. I was also surprised at how well the ThermaFleece wicked away moisture. Even in cold weather you can heat up quickly and moisture control is just as critical.
Using arm and knee warmers is a must when the weather becomes unpredictable. With the extra protection from the Pearl Izumi ThermaFleece warmers you will be ready for just about anything thrown your way. Offered in black or white, these warmers are a must have for any cyclist.
