Right off the bat I have to say it. The POC Index Air Adjustable Gloves are hands down (no pun intended) the best gloves I’ve ever worn. And over the last 13 years, I’ve worn a lot of different brands.
These are full fingered gloves. After a few scars on my fingers, I only wear full fingered gloves. These gloves are super ventilated. Throughout the entire palm and inside of the fingers, there are tiny holes to allow sweat to escape. There is no padding in the heel of the palm, but that doesn’t bother me a bit. I am less concerned with padding than I am with the overall comfort of the glove. The fingers have silicone gripping material (so you don’t let go of the handlebars when screamin’ downhill) and the thumb is covered with lots of cozy terry cloth. Makes it nice to wipe your sweat and your nose.
My favorite detail of these gloves is the way they fasten. It is subtle but it differentiates the gloves from others I’ve worn. They Velcro on the top of the back of your hand and the gap is closed by soft stretchy material. Why does this impress me so? Other gloves I have fasten across the inside of my wrist—right across the tendon and bones. And that puts uncomfortable pressure on my tendons. These gloves come in Black, Pink and Green and the sizes range in XS-XL. I was a bit worried the XS would be too small but they were the perfect fit for me.
Overall, these are great. The POC Index Air Adjustable Gloves are at the top of my bag these days and plenty of people have stopped to ask me about them. They have a bold and impressive look. I only hope my riding style does them justice.
