Why Do I Want To Yell “REGGIE” From The Top Of My Lungs Every Time I Put On My Reggie Bike Kit?
I am reviewing the Reggie Bike Kit, but I always want to know “the rest of the story”. Reggie started as kind of an “out there” fun idea. This is from their website: “Hey, what if we did a spoof of one of those cycling videos!? We could glue on some beards, Sharpie tattoos up our arms, and then we have to convert it to black and white…and the name on the shorts would be ‘REGGIE’!”
Well, I say “BOOM BABY!” Reggie is a Canadian company looking to make in-roads in the cycling apparel world by coming up with some crazy cool designs. Now, I grew up in Indiana, and when you shout “Reggie”, it can only mean Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers. You may ask, “Why in the world is he trying to make a connection to an NBA Hall of Famer?” It turns out, Reggie Miller has focused has retirement and competitive spirit to the wonderful world of Mountain Biking. In addition, he has his own line of “Boom Baby” kits. I really think these two entities need to get together, and form some kind of partnership.
The Reggie bike kit, line of clothing, and accessories are one of the coolest and funnest designs I’ve seen out there. Loud, bright, unique, and distinct are just a few adjectives I’d like to throw at it. I challenge you to come up with others to add to this creative venture. Now, the big test! How does this kit wear when put to the test? I am certainly excited to find out.

I love it when a company adds their personal touch with a bit of knowledge about a very well know local climb.
Orange Crush Jersey
First of all, “Faster” fit means “Faster” fit. I cautiously measured using their sizing GUIDE, and came up with a size that I felt would work. I also was hoping that I would lose those final few pounds to get to be in “race” shape. I’m inching closer to that goal with each and every ride. I have to say, I like my race fit! It is a snug fit for sure. Hence, I want you to make sure you take the time to measure and select a size that works for you.
I come from the cycling rich nation of the Netherlands, and orange (or “Oranje” if you prefer) is my favorite color. Tune in to the Tour de France, and you’ll surely find the prominently featured “Dutch Corner” on many of the Col du ____s. Those Dutch are loud in voice (alcohol may be a factor….) and the orange color provides for an animated backdrop to the world’s biggest cycling stage.
I digress! I like the simple color and design of this kit as well as many of the others that are represented on their website. Stylish and unique, this Orange Crush Jersey puts a smile on my face every time I don them for my rides. Plus, I hope my visibility is enhanced by my bright colors. You just never know what a flash of orange will do out on the road. In an understated way, the name “Reggie” appears some 18 times on the jersey, but blends in without being obnoxious.

Gravel, mud, dirt, puddle, wet adventure ride with all my Reggie gear drying in the dining room. Life of a cyclist 🙂
The performance has been optimal. Reggie promotes their ware with a “Not Too Hot, Not Too Cold – Just Right” Slogan, and that has been spot on. Early morning rides with some chill in the air, I wear a layer or two on top of my Orange Crush Jersey. The sweat wicks through and avoids any moisture from clinging as my body heat fluctuates with effort and/or air temperature. Warmer temperatures have finally come, and I have almost felt air conditioned with airflow cooling my body.

Bright and loud packaging that matches their design. I like it!
Reggie Bike Kit Classy White Bib Shorts
These bibs have been a hit! The chamois has enough support to provide great comfort. The cut or design of said chamois is perfect, since I have not experienced any bunching around the inner thighs. The elasticity is good, and the materials provide compression without being too tight. The length of the legs is spot on as well. Some bibs I have get to be too short, and for some reason it does not feel right. There may also be a compression component to it all as parts of my quads are exposed. Not the case with the Reggie Classy White Bib Shorts. They fit snug and smooth while moving and flexing in all the appropriate areas.

No complaints from the family jewels. I like the Saddle design.
The ventilation around the waist is good. With hard interval efforts, I usually have a lot of sweat build up in that area. The wind dries my upper torso, but in the bent over position the waist line seems to be a good sweat collector. I still had a tiny little bit of that as the temperatures have finally been reaching the 80’s, but not too excess. And lastly, the mesh upper in the back has really helped keep that all to a minimum.
The Reggie Bike Kit Orange Crush Socks
The socks really add to the fun factor of the entire kit. It ties all the pieces together. I may not ride like an elite Cyclist, but I sure do feel like one. Cycling socks have a cult following all of their own, and these should catch on I think. There are even apparent rules to how high they should go up the calf. In either case, these Reggie Orange Crush Socks will certainly create some interest in the niche cycling sock world.
And a final Reggie Bike Kit Wrap Up
The Reggie line of cycling clothes simply makes me happy. I’m happy to wear it, I’m happy to be seen in it! Others like it, which makes me happy! Plus, I’m very visible to motorists, so they don’t hit me. That makes me very VERY happy. In short, the quality is superior, the fit is tremendous, and the look is cool. Bundle that all together, and you have a formula for many happy riding moments. Therefore, you need to check it out for yourself, so you can be happy too. All the Reggie styles are available in both Men’s and Women’s. For more information on this Bike Kit and other Reggie products, please visit: www.reggie.bike.
