Everblog Digital Calendar Review

There’s a very specific moment when you realize your family’s organization system isn’t actually a system at all. It’s a collection of half-working habits…a family calendar on one parent’s phone, a reminder yelled down the hallway, a note on the counter that everyone assumes someone else will deal with. That’s the world Everblog was built to help manage…the everyday, slightly messy reality of family life.

At its core, Everblog is a wall-mounted smart calendar and family hub…a large touchscreen designed to live in a shared space and bring some order to that everyday chaos. Schedules, chores, lists, and plans live out in the open instead of being scattered across apps and reminders, which immediately changes how the whole household interacts with them.

We put the Everblog to the test in our house out of a very real curiosity: could a smart screen actually replace the paper calendar and ease some of the mental load that comes with running a household? Spoiler alert…it didn’t solve everything for us (I’ll get to the messy parts in a minute), but for the right family, it really could take some weight off day-to-day life. Let’s dig in.

What Can the Everblog Do?

Everblog wants to be your home’s organizational brain…the place where schedules, chores, and lists get sorted instead of living in five different places.

At a glance, it looks like a large touchscreen smart calendar. But after living with it for a month, it became clear that calling it just a calendar doesn’t really do it justice. We ended up using it as a planning board, a reminder system, a shared shopping list, a chore tracker, and occasionally…a glorified digital photo frame and media player.

Here’s what it’s designed to handle:

  • A shared family calendar with day, week, and month views
  • Color-coded profiles for each family member
  • Chores with checklists and built-in rewards
  • Custom to-do lists and shared shopping lists
  • Weekly meal planning with recipes
  • A fridge organizer for tracking groceries and expiration dates
  • Weather forecasts, countdown timers, and reminders
  • Sleep mode to conserve energy
  • A photo screensaver so it doesn’t feel like “tech” all the time
  • A mobile app so you can manage things remotely

Over the month, we found ourselves bouncing between features…some stuck immediately, others never quite earned a place in our routine. And that’s probably going to be different for every family.

Unboxing & Wall Install

Everblog Digital Calendar Unboxing

Straight out of the box, the hardware is solid. You get a massive 21.5″ touchscreen, the power adapter, a hanging strap, and the mounting hardware.

You’ve got two mounting options: hanging it with the strap for a “gallery” look or mounting it more securely with screws. It can be installed horizontally or vertically, which gave us some flexibility in deciding where it lived.

They include mounting templates, so you don’t have to turn your wall into Swiss cheese guessing where the holes go. The back of the unit also has cable-routing channels so the cord doesn’t hang awkwardly.

From box to wall took less than 45 minutes and it never felt frustrating.

Calendar Syncing Setup: The Biggest Hurdle

Everblog Digital Calendar Setup

Initial setup was straightforward. Power it on, connect to WiFi, download the app, and start syncing. Syncing should be easy. And technically, the steps are simple.

Everblog Calendar Sync

Can Sync with a lot of services

But when we connected our main family Google Calendar… things got weird. Events showed up…but we ended up with double, triple, and sometimes quadruple entries for a single event. I’m not kidding. A simple “Work Day” looked like a glitch in the matrix.

App has correct scheduled listings – Everblog does not

The confusing part? The Everblog app showed everything correctly. The Everblog screen did not.

We tried multiple approaches over the month to resolve the issue:

  • Direct Google sync
  • Calendar URL links
  • iCal links

Each had its own quirks. URL links wouldn’t sync at all, even though the link opened and displayed fine in a browser. iCal links turned timed events into all-day events. We eventually stuck with the direct Google sync because it was the most reliable, but we never fully shook the multiple event glitch. It was readable…we knew we had the appointment…but it looked cluttered. I’m still not entirely sure whether this issue was coming from Everblog, our Google calendar, or some unfortunate combination of both. The fact that everything looked correct in the app but not on the Everblog screen makes me lean toward the device itself…though I can’t rule out that both sides were contributing. On the flip side, the kids’ school calendars synced perfectly, so they knew exactly when their next “No School” day was.

Everblog Screen & Hardware: A Strong Point

Physically, Everblog feels well-built. The 21.5″ touchscreen is bright without being harsh, and the automatic brightness adjustment worked well day and night. We never had issues reading it from across the room, and it didn’t feel like a glowing billboard at night.

Some details we appreciated more over time:

  • Built-in quad speakers that actually sound good for a “tablet”
  • Automatic brightness adjustment
  • Real-time indoor temperature and humidity sensors. Handy? Yes. Necessary? Maybe not, but I liked knowing.
  • A front button with soft, color-coded breathing lights for notifications

The breathing light is subtle, not obnoxious…more of a gentle nudge than a demand for attention. Over the month, it became part of the background rather than a distraction.

Using the Everblog Day-to-Day (After the Novelty Wears Off)

Calendar

Everblog Digital Calendar Display

Having one visible family calendar really is nice. The kids’ school calendar synced properly, which meant they could independently check upcoming events and days off. Even with duplicated entries on the family Google calendar, they could still see what was coming up…it just wasn’t as clean or confidence-inspiring as we wanted.

Chores & Rewards

The chore system is thoughtfully done. Tasks are clear, checklists are simple, and progress is visible. When kids complete chores, they earn stars that can be traded for rewards you set. For younger kids, this would be incredibly motivating. Our kids are in their late teens, so the rewards didn’t land the same way. That’s not a flaw…it’s just a reality of age. For families with kids who are still learning responsibility, this system would absolutely shine.

To-Do Lists & Shopping Lists

Everblog Shopping List

The shopping list ended up being our most-used feature. Anyone could add items as soon as something ran out, which felt very collaborative instead of relying on one person to remember everything.

Everblog Digital Calendar Screen Off

That said, we did hit a snag. To save electricity, we let the screen go into Sleep / Standby Mode…and it turns out that when the Everblog sleeps, it also goes offline. More than once, I was standing in the grocery aisle, opened the app to check the list, and was greeted with the Everblog is “Offline” message. Because the screen was off at home, I couldn’t access the list remotely. Lesson learned: if you plan to rely heavily on this feature, make sure the screen is on when you need remote access.

Meal Planning

Everblog Meal Planning

We didn’t fully adopt this feature since we already plan meals directly on our calendar, but it’s well thought out. You get a weekly grid with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Recipes can be added, edited, and reused. For families who like structure around meals, this could easily become a favorite feature.

Fridge Organizer

Everblog Fridge Organizer

The Fridge Organizer is a freshly added feature (as of writing this) that tracks expiry dates, so we didn’t get hands-on time with it. But it’s worth mentioning…it shows Everblog is actively improving and adding functionality rather than letting the product stagnate.

Intelligent Voice Creation

Everblog Voice Recognition

Voice creation was inconsistent. Adding calendar events worked almost all of the time. Creating notes was solid. Adding items to the shopping list? Much less reliable. Sometimes it nailed it. Other times it simply failed to recognize commands.

Media & Photos

Everblog Entertainment

As a digital photo frame, Everblog is awesome. Family members could send photos, and seeing them rotate on the screen added warmth to the space. It also supports apps like Spotify, YouTube, and major streaming platforms. We used it for music and the occasional how-to cooking video. The speakers were more than capable for casual listening.

No Subscriptions

This is huge. In a world where my doorbell, my TV, and probably my toaster want a monthly fee, Everblog is subscription-free. You buy the device, you get the features. Period. You get the calendar syncing, the mobile app, the photo sharing, the weather…all of it right out of the box. No hidden “Premium” tier to unlock the useful stuff. That is a massive win in my book.

What I’d Love to See Improved

Beyond calendar syncing, the biggest improvement I’d love to see is a browser-based portal. I spend most of my workday on a computer, and being able to manage Everblog from a desktop would make a huge difference. The app works…when the device is online…but a full web interface would elevate the experience significantly.

Everblog Digital Family Calendar

The Verdict on the Everblog

So, is the Everblog worth it? For us? It kind of faded into the background. The calendar sync issues made it hard to trust fully, and my kids were too old for the chore rewards to really hook them. Plus, the shopping list connectivity issue was a frustration point. But…I’m not the target audience anymore.

I will say this…if you are a busy family with kids in that 6-14 age range, this could be the command center you’ve been dreaming of.

  • The no subscription model is unbeatable.
  • The chore gamification is perfect for elementary/middle schoolers.
  • Having a central hub for the family schedule is powerful.

The best part? Everblog offers a 180-day no-hassle return policy. That is an eternity in the tech world. It means you can buy it, hang it up, live with it for six months, and if it doesn’t organize your chaos, you can send it back. If you’re drowning in sticky notes and missed appointments, I’d say give it a shot. It might just be the extra pair of hands you need. For more info or to check one out for yourself, visit everblog.com or amazon.com.
