Replacing a pair of old slippers is a great holiday season present. Acorn is well known in the slipper world and offers 214 options on their website Acorn.com. Acorn has integrated heritage ragg wool into their best selling Moc slipper and offers the Acorn Moc Ragg Women’s Slippers in two colors new for this season, grey and red.
Moc Ragg Slipper Features
The Acorn Moc Ragg delivers in the comfort and cozy department thanks to thick berber linings that are soft on the bare foot. The footbed is squishy and quickly molds to your foot in about a week of regular wear. The footbed is soft, but not overly supportive of the arch. It utilizes a wool blend upper and thick berber liner to keep the coldest of toes warm. The Moc Ragg can also be worn with socks for extra warmth or without.
The sole is skid-resistant and provides grip on hardwood floors and can be worn outside to grab the paper, etc. I tested out these slippers in grey and did encounter some transfer of the red suede sidewall onto the berber lining, likely due to crossing my legs. This isn’t a big deal to me, but I do worry that the red may transfer even when washed in the cold cycle, as recommended.
The Acorn Moc Ragg Women’s Slipper is available in size small, medium, large, and extra large (XXL). This model is not available in wide width. Below is a size guide from Acorn.com. I tested the slippers in a size large, as I wear a size 9 in casual shoes. The first day I slipped them on I immediately wished that I had ordered an XL. However, with regular wearing the slippers have expanded and now fit my foot perfectly. The footbed has also taken on the mold of my foot.
