Keen Howser Review
Orange shoes? Sounds pretty wild, eh? However, I love my new orange Keen Howser slip-ons. First off, Keens calls the color rust, don’t want to confuse you all. If orange is not your color, there are 4 other great colors to check out: mauve wine (purple-ish), English ivy (green), gargoyle (smoke blue), and black.
The Howser’s have been my go to shoe the last few weeks for taking out the dogs and running around town. They are easy on and easy off thanks to little strips of elastic near the ankle bone. They are as comfy and cozy as a pair of slippers thanks to microfleece lining that looks like real lambs’ wool. The lining provides added warmth to the shoe, while the quilted nylon outer fabric provides a little protection from the elements. The outer is water resistant and easy to clean. I have had my fair share of dirty dog paw marks on mine, but using a little soap and water on a wet rag has done the trick to make them look like brand new.
Keen has gradually expanded their shoe line over the years, but one thing has remained the same, comfort and quality. The Howser has enough cushion and support to make it through a full day, yet they feel like a pair of slippers (and look a bit like them according to who you ask!). I can’t wait to try them out after a long day of cramming my feet into alpine ski boots. They are also plenty light and weigh a little over 11 ounces and have a non-sticking rubber outsole. This feature may be nice for cool mornings on a boat!
They look good with jeans and have a bit of style on the sides thanks to some detailed stitching. The Howser is available for men and women and has an MSRP of $60. For more information on these shoes and other great products, please visit KeenFootwear.com
