Patagonia Bly Mid Review
Patagonia’s Bly Mid Gore-Tex hiking boot is comfortable on your first hike and requires little to no break in time. If you have ever worn the Bly Low, the Mid will be an easy transition and instant favorite. We tested the Bly on Front Range Colorado hikes and even strapped on a pair of snowshoes with them for some Rocky Mountain snowshoeing. The Bly are waterproof thanks to a full grain leather upper and have a Gore-Tex breathable lining to help keep your tootsies warm and dry. These boots have a triple density EVA midsole that provides a comfortable landing for each footfall, while also not weighing the boots down. The Bly has a Virbram Ecostep outsole that provides sticky traction on slick rocks along the trail. Like many Patagonia products, the Bly is constructed of many recycled fabrics, including: 70% recycled POLI-CORK footbed, 40% recycled polyester tongue and breathable collar, 100% recycled polyester laces, 15% recycled EVA insole and midsole, and 30% recycled rubber outsole. We loved the added ankle coverage that the mid provides, but felt like we were wearing a light hiker and not a full hiking boot. The Bly is a great boot for those wanting a waterproof boot that can be worn around town and on the trail in any and all weather conditions. For more information, please visit Patagonia.com
