The first time our tester wore the Salomon RX Moc was actually out on a trail run. Early one morning, two of our testers got together for a trail run and our female tester unfortunately wore the Salomon RX Moc in the car (because they were so comfortable and easy to slip on) and forgot to pack her trail shoes. The RX Moc did surprisingly well in muddy-snowy conditions with forefoot running! With that said, the RX Moc incorporates many of Salomon’s well known components into this new recovery shoe: OS Tendon in the outsole, OS Muscle in the midsole, and a breathable mesh upper. These features combine to provide excellent cushion and airflow to your foot. The RX Moc has an loop on the upper and heel area to pull on for easy foot entry. Recovery shoes are not typically meant to cover long-distances. However, we found these shoes to be incredibly comfortable when walking the ActiveGearReview dog testers for over a mile or two post run. One nice addition for next years model would be an adjustable pull tie that would cinch around the midfoot to help prevent heel slipping in narrow footed runners. With that said, we are looking forward to using the Salomon for not only post run foot recovery, but also as base camp shoes on summer backpacking trips: the RX Moc is an ideal choice because they are light weight, comfortable, and portable. The Salomon RX Moc comes in men’s, women’s, and kid’s sizing with a variety of fun colors. Available for $60 online and store near this spring.
