While we often get into the details of running shoes, camping products, cycling gear, and more at ActiveGearReview, it’s good to get back to the basics that most of us guys use on a daily or weekly basis. A shaving razor is something most of us often take for granted, but when you dig in, they actually have a lot of thought put into them. The Schick Hydro Line of razors is something that I’ve been using for quiet some time now to keep a clean face.
I typically let a few days lapse in between shaving as I don’t have a job where I have to be clean shaven every day. My office mate doesn’t really care if I shave or not, just as long as I give her food, water, and take her for a run/walk from time to time. While there isn’t anything that forces me to shave, it’s nice to have a clean face from time to time. Aside from my own pleasure of having a clean shaven face, my wife likes a clean shaven face and lets face it, that’s what counts right?!
Schick Razors Tested
As I mentioned, I’ve used Schick razors for a while now and more recently I’ve been using the Schick Hydro line of disposable razors. The Hydro 5 has 5 blades and little pockets of hydrating gel to keep your face from getting dried out which helps in some of the dry summer heat. If you live on the east coast or other humid places, you don’t have to worry about it as much as us guys in Colorado. In the hand, it’s not a heavy duty razor, but you can get a good grip on it giving you a little more confidence while shaving.
I’ve also been trying out the Schick Xtreme 3 portable razor which uses Pro Flex and 30 degrees of pivot to catch all your faces curves. This is a 3 blade disposable razor and while it only has 3 blades compared to the Schick Hydro 5 which has 5 blades, it still takes care of your face nicely. Instead of using pockets of gel in the Hydro line, it uses hard soap like substance that soothes your skin after the razor cuts the hair.
