I’ve used a lot of foam rollers over the years, but I have to say that I have had a hard time sticking with it due to the anticipatory pain. There are rollers with cut outs for trigger points or zones and spikes to really dig in. Prior to trying out the Rollga STANDARD, I had yet to find the ideal roller for my tight calves, traps, and glutes. The Rollga STANDARD is very different than other solid foam rollers in that there are channels that help you target areas that are hard to reach with a traditional foam roller. The channels on the  Rollga STANDARD also help eliminate rolling over bony structures, such as the shin or vertebrae and allow you to work the muscles while protecting the structures that often elicit pain with a traditional roller. The density of the Rollga STANDARD is also spot on for a beginner, yet can also work as you advance your rolling by applying more body weight while rolling. The Rollga STANDARD is 18″, this allows enough space to avoid the feeling that you are falling off the foam and it also allows you to roll your entire spine and both legs at the same time, which will save you time.

The Rollga STANDARD features standard density bead of EPP foam that is sealed with Rollgas’ proprietary heat treatment to keep the foam from taking on any unwanted odors. The core on this foam roller is solid, which means it doesn’t collapse or squeeze down when you apply your body weight. The Rollga STANDARD, and all Rollga models, is backed by a 60 day money back guarantee. If you aren’t impressed, send it back. Rollga also offers a 2 year warranty. Once you are done with the Rollga, you can recycle the roller as the foam is 100% recyclable.

How to Roll

The folks over at Rollga don’t want to leave you in the dark on how to use the STANDARDfoam roller. Rollga offers not only a YouTube channel with numerous videos, a Facebook page/group that you can join, but also and best of all, an app that can be added to your phone. The app is the easiest to use when you are on the floor rolling away. Simply pull up the app and pull up the written “How To” guide or search based on the area are you hoping to work, such as the hips or IT band. You can also post comments or questions within the app to get more information on how to use your roller or provide feedback. Here are a few screen shots of the app on an iPhone. The app is available in the App Store or Google Play. If you are looking to get into foam rolling to enhance your performance and recovery, than I suggest you check out the highly versatile Rollga STANDARD.
