Asics’ newest update to its ultra-popular top-of-line cushioning shoe, the Nimbus, proves to be a worthy contender. Asics paid a good bit of attention to the fit and comfort of the upper for the Nimbus 11, and the result is an improved version of Asics’ asymmetrical lacing system which follows the top line of the foot and reduces pressure points. This shoe also eliminates an overlay that in the Nimbus 10 ran over the large toe area and sports an improved, more stretchy mesh in the forefoot. This year’s version is also built on a slightly wider base- our testers felt that the new Nimbus 11 was as wide as a 2E width in the older Nimbus 10. This shoe retains the outstanding cushioning and responsiveness of the previous model.

Overall, this shoe is a perfect match for high-mileage runners looking for a slightly stable neutral shoe with an ultra plush cushioned ride.
