The adidas Supernova Glide 3 shoes are neutral trainers that pack a punch when it comes to cushioning. The Supernova Glide 3’s feature adiPRENE® in the heel and forefoot regions to provide ample cushioning during heel strike and toe push off. These trainers are rather rigid, encourage the heel-toe transition, and therefore may be a great selection for runners with a high arch or those that are a tad heavier that crave cushioning with added control. Our tester’s found that the Supernova Glide 3 offer some mild support for those that have slight overpronation thanks to the 3 stripe midfoot wrap and the beefy midsole on the inside of the shoe.
The Supernova Glide 3’s are quite different from many of the neutral trainers coming onto the scene which seek to shave weight wherever they can. Rather, these shoes do not skimp on details and features an anti-microbial sock liner and Geofit at the heel collar. Together, these combine to provide a nice place to slip your foot into during a run. The lining is soft and non-piling, while the heel collar cups the heel to provide a good starting point for each stride. The toe box provides ample room for your toes to splay while running without rubbing against the sides of the shoes. The upper is composed of mesh, which provides for great breathability. While microsuede inserts, also on the upper, are seamless against the foot and provide additional structure, yet did not induce any hot spots on long runs.
Overall, the cushioning and smooth ride stands out for the adidas Supernova Glide 3. If you are seeking a durable trainer, these are worth checking out.
