For those of you out there that like their shorter running shorts, the Brooks Infiniti Short II is a must to check out. The Infiniti Short II comes with a 2 1/4 inseam which is nice when you want to pick up your speed and not have the shorts fabric get in the way. We tended to use these shorts during races and speed workouts as that was their best use in our opinion. The shorts have what Brooks calls a lightweight stretch woven fabric, this allows the short to stretch when needed in stride vs. some of the older nylon shorts that have no give to them. This is starting to become a common trend among many running shorts and we are a big fan.
The Infiniti Short II has two Velcro pockets on each side of the rear to keep energy gels and small food items. One change that we suggested to Brooks is to have these pockets have zippers instead of Velcro, this way you can store valuables in there such as keys, a credit card, money, MP3 player, etc. While some of this can be stored in the inside key pocket, we still like at least one zippered pocket.
The lining of the Infiniti II is made with X-Static fiber that allows for temperature regulation, helping to keep you cool in the warmer months, and warm in the colder months. This is not to say that you can go out for a run on a 90F degree day and not be hot, although we can dream! Overall, we really liked the Brooks Infiniti II Shorts and often find ourselves recommending these shorts to fellow friends and runners.
