Gear Review: Mountain Hardwear Super Power Hoody
Looking for a fleece that not only looks great, but is a top performer? We’ve tested the Mountain Hardwear Super Power Hoody for a good length of time and we found this to be one of our most versatile pieces of gear. We first tested the hoody while skiing and snowshoeing and hands down, this was our favorite second layer. The hood was perfect for wearing under a helmet on cold days and since the hood has a snug fit, it worked great while hiking and snowshoeing while it was cold and windy. After the winter season, we tested this hoody during mild to cold weather road and trail running. Once again, it has a perfect fit and it shed away moisture like a pro. One of the features we liked best while running were the thumb holes, which allowed us to keep our hands warm when not wearing gloves. The stretch panels in the Super Power Hoody allowed for maximum flexibility, which comes in handy while skiing, running, hiking, etc. Other features worth noting include; reflective panels, flatlock seams to reduce chafing, fleece lined side pockets, and a chest pocket that has a hole for earphones or an iPod. The Mountain Hardwear Super Power Hoody retails for $120 and is worth every penny. This will turn out to be one of your favorite pieces of gear for years to come as it has won our testers hearts.
