La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt
We all love synthetic tech tees, right? They are superior to cotton, they wick moisture, they are cheaper then wool and they are comfortable. Despite all of these benefits, synthetic tech tees make you smell terrible! Alas, I think La Sportiva has broken the code and has developed a synthetic tech tee that doesn’t stink! La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt Fit
I am conflicted on the fit with the La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt. I went with a size medium and the shirt is definitely intended to be close to the skin. Generally, I wear a looser shirt when trail running and initially did not feel at home in this shirt. I will note that the length of the sleeves, the length of the shirt and the circumference of the waist were true to size. I would classify this shirt somewhere between an athletic fit/compression fit. If this style of fit is up your alley, I say this shirt is true to size.

Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt Performance
The La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt is made of 56% Nylon, 42% Polypropylene, 2% Spandex and weighs in at 5.5 oz in a size medium. The fabric construction of the T-Shirt is mind boggling. I’ve never seen so many different kinds of fabric construction on one piece of apparel. Besides boggling your mind and looking bad ass, this construction serves a purpose. The varying constructions throughout the shirt promote range of motion (4-way motion) and increased breathability (Body-mapped venting system). Even though this shirt was a little tight for my normal liking, the breathability was excellent. I did not experience any chaffing, and hardly even noticed I was wearing the shirt after getting a few miles into my run. The highlight of the Kuma 2.0 is that I did not smell like a locker room after my run! Thanks to La Sportiva’s anti-oder technology, I didn’t feel guilty about putting the shirt in my gym bag and using it a second time without washing it. That says a lot, because I never wear my synthetic tech tees more then once.

La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt Final Thoughts
The La Sportiva Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt is beautifully designed both functionally and aesthetically. Since I generally wear looser fitting tech tees, this shirt was a little tight for me. However, once I got going I didn’t even think about the fit since the shirt is so comfortable. Also, the anti-odor technology is so good that I find myself reaching for this shirt over my baggier ones. The shirt is a little pricey for a synthetic tech tee but is still about $10-15 dollars cheaper then its wool competitors. The Kuma 2.0 T-Shirt is offered in “Rust” and “Nugget. Hi Erik, I am about to order La Sportive Kuma 2.0 t-shirt, but uncertain to choose for the right size. I actually prefer to have a loose fit for my trail running. I usually take size M or size 15 for my dress shirt. What is your advise for me? Thanks.

Hi SK – Like you, I am usually a 15/Medium and found the shirt to fit a lot like a compression layer. I do not think a large will make it fit like a loose shirt because it is not deigned to fit that way. I will say despite my preference to wear looser trail shirts, I have really grown to like this shirt. Hope this helps.
