The Canadian sports apparel label Sugoi is not terribly well-known in the running community, but they have a strong reputation in the cycling community and produce garments with high-performance materials and superior construction.
The RSR line from Sugoi signals gear made for top performance and with Sugoi’s best materials. The RSR singlet is a serious race top made with Sugoi’s best moisture-management materials, Gobi and VectorStretch. The design and colorblocking of the RSR Singlet make the top look sleek and fast.
The fit of the RSR Singlet is very fitted. I typically wear Medium tops and bottoms from Sugoi, but would go up to Large in this top. Buyers may want to try on first or size up one size if not wanting a close to compression-type fit. The design and construction is innovative, with multiple panels making a back design that stays out of the way and doesn’t hinder running movement. Flat seams and VectroStretch panels allow the top to move with you and minimize chafing. The VectorStretch material seems a bit more open for ventilation and I liked the stretch properties. I would like to see a revision of this top with more of that material for better comfort.
Overall, the Sugoi RSR Singlet is a top-performing race and run top for those looking for great hot weather performance, streamlined fit, and good comfort. We recommend the RSR Singlet highly for runners looking to conquer their age group or just look like they will.
The Sugoi RSR Singlet retails for $40. For more info, visit www.amazon.com/sugoi.
