One of the first things you’ll notice about the Adventure Jacket is its high-quality materials. While I found the jacket to be incredibly comfortable, the volume of the attached 3-panel hood proved to be a bit too much for my liking. On several occasions, the hood would interfere with my line of sight while running, which was a bit of a discomfort. However, I found that wearing a hat underneath the hood provided enough insulation to keep me warm and keep the extra material from interfering with my vision. Adding some adjustability to the hood, such as an adjustable Velcro, would be a useful update that would allow the wearer to reduce the volume of the hood and ensure a snugger fit.

Of course, what really matters is how the jacket performs in the elements. The Adventure Jacket does not disappoint. With a reflective logo on the right sleeve and center back, this jacket provides good visibility in low-light conditions. The jacket is designed to handle the elements, including frost, rain, and wind, and it performed well in keeping me warm during my testing. I wore this jacket on an 18-mile run in temperatures hovering around 20 degrees with winds at 15mph, and I was reasonably warm throughout the run with just a long sleeve underneath. This jacket weighs in at 417 grams, which is a plus as it is able to provide added insulation compared to other lighter jackets. While it is not completely windproof, it still did a decent job of keeping the wind at bay, even in frigid Michigan temperatures and wind.
One of my runs in this jacket was in light rain. I was initially impressed by the water beading on the surface of the jacket. However, it did eventually soak through during a 90-minute run in light rain. This jacket is best suited for winter conditions as it was able to handle snow just fine during other runs as well as keep my core warm by providing adequate wind protection.
