Ladies, if you’re looking for a new pair go-to pant for cool weather workouts don’t overlook the Lucy Endurance Tights. Packed with all the standard features plus great quality make these pants a staple in my fall/winter workout wear.
The Lucy Endurance Tights are a classic style running tight. These tights are made with a thick, durable moisture wicking material (88% polyester, 12% spandex) that has not pulled or shown wear after at least a dozen workouts of all kinds. They even stood up to a sliding spill on a trail run on one of the first days I wore them. The material feels smooth against the skin and the flat seams don’t chafe even after many hours. The material kept moisture away from my body and had good breathability.
Lucy Endurance Tights Fit
Getting the perfect fit in running tights can be challenging, but the Lucy Endurance Tights fit perfectly. They run true to size and the sizing chart on the website is very accurate. At 5’2” on a good day, I really appreciated the 28 inch inseam, but longer legged gals may find them to hit a bit above the ankle. The wide waistband sat just below my true waist and slightly above my hips which I found to be very comfortable and flattering.
The wide waistband combined with the tight material and drawstring waist made sure that the Endurance Tights stayed in place for my entire workout every time. I didn’t have to fuss with them sagging between my legs, pulling them up at the ankles, or adjusting them at all. Something I cannot say for most running tights.
While the Lucy Endurance Tights are a classic running tight they don’t skimp on features. They have a small zipper pocket centered in the back of the waist to securely stash a small snack, keys, or chapstick. The double layer of material kept anything in the pocket from rubbing or irritating the small of my back which I really appreciated. The pocket wasn’t quite large enough for a smart phone, but would probably hold a small mp3 player pretty well although I did not try any specific models.
The Lucy Endurance Tights also feature reflective stripes along the sides to ensure visibility in low light. Given the short days this time of year, I appreciated knowing that I had some additional reflectivity to keep me visible to other trail users and cars.
One feature of the Lucy Endurance Tights that I found to be a very attractive feature, but others should be aware of, is the mesh insets on the sides. These side panels are much thinner, perforated, and highly breathable. They definitely let the airflow through them and aren’t much for keeping out wind or extreme cold. That said, I do a lot of combination indoor-outdoor workouts and these mesh side panels were a life saver. The airflow was much needed indoors, but the long pants and warmer material was a must-have for outdoors. These are one of the only pairs of full-length tights that I’ve found keep me comfortable and my body temperature regulated for these intense indoor-outdoor workouts.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Lucy Endurance Tights are a winner in my book. I would recommend them for outdoor workouts of any length between 30 and 50 degrees. From what I’ve seen through numerous workouts and just as many washes I imagine them lasting me a long time and continuing to be on the top of my pile or tights for fall and winter training.
A new item to their line, the Lucy Endurance Tights currently only come in black.
