Victorinox Swiss Army Summit XLT Watch Review

Although the Victorinox Swiss Army Summit XLT is not as tech savvy as other gear we have tested in the past, we thought it was a good idea to expose our outdoor audience of a time piece that you can wear to work or special occasions while matching your outdoor and active lifestyle persona. I typically wear a digital watch to take advantage of the chronograph and heart rate monitor capabilities, but often times I find myself in situations where I would like to sport a little nicer watch. The Summit XLT is a watch that I started to wear for nicer occasions and it quickly became a watch that I wore ever day.

With the rubber watch band, the Summit XLT is very comfortable to wear and it isn’t too heavy where it feels awkward to take it out for a run if you don’t feel like switching out watches. Unfortunately, I am not a sound sleeper so I tend to wake up and look at my watch to see what time it is. To assist me with this, the dials are glow in the dark and there are glow in the dark dots next to each number on the watch to see what time it is at night. This did the job for the most part, but I do enjoy having a back-light in a watch a little more. If you’re into the dive scene, this watch is water resistant up to 330 FT which should be sufficient for the majority of the population. One thing that is worth mentioning is that after testing this watch for several months, I have no scratches on the glass of the watch face. This may not mean a lot to most, but it seems that no matter what watch I am testing or wearing, I tend to put my watches through the ringer and get a big scratch on the watch face.

So if you’re in the market to get an alternative to your Timex, Garmin, Polar, Etc. watch yet still want a hint of sportiness, I suggest taking a look at the Victorinox Swiss Army Summit XLT. For more information on the Summit XLT and other Victorinox products visit or
